It’s the same here. You can dance around the issue all you want, but we all know there are certain classes in this game that are both grossly overpowered and easier to play than their weaker counterparts. When class like that runs into a weaker class, all else being equal, the weaker class loses.
This statement is wrong, incorrect, and infactual.
No matter what class you are, and no matter what class your opponent is, you CAN in fact beat them, the bigger factor involved is your traits/amulet selection, and if you get a heads up on what build the opponent is and what to avoid before you actually start going at each other.
A thief will not always defeat a Warrior, a warrior will not always defeat a necro, no such rock papper scissors exists in this game, sorry. You lost because of YOU.
Reading several comments here I think most of you miss the point the op wants to make entirely. It is not about how good or how bad someone is or how he got into certain situations.
It is about how some skills work and what effects they have – regardless of the situation.
The situation matters.
You can’t say a skill is OP if you don’t even try to fight it or counter it, that’s like saying the +5% damage to opponents from back or side trait is OP because you want to leave your back to your opponent all the time
There is no competitive tpvp , random solo teams running 2 mesmers and 2 bunkers steamroll most “pro guilds”.
I logged on to the forums for the first time just because I saw this, the amount of ignorance/bad is unbelievable.
Any guild that’s even half way decent, is in no way shape or form going to get “steamrolled” by a group of pugs because they’re rolling 2mes/2guard, in fact, those are usually the easiest teams to beat, because they’re full of players that are terrible and think using that comp will give them an edge.
