I sincerely hope all ppl here are trolling when they use the gw2wvw.org ‘Focus’ stat to support or deny double team claims.

It just shows how much each side caps from eachother, and does not represent any focus at all about fights.

These same statistics would even be better to claim that Deso just has a hard time winning any fights in WvW that are bigger scale and therefor are least capable of defending their stuff and thus losing their stuff most. Winning bigger fights mostly means you don’t finish off downed by stomping because it may kill you, and thus results in less points out of ppt for those doing good in bigger fights. If you are bad in bigger fights you can of course always make some points by taking out your army of hideyhidey thieves to finish off ppl for getting points (while focusing on holding bloodlust). Or of course if you greatly outnumber your opponent it is possible to go with finishing off your enemies.

So what do these statistics really tell us about Desolation…. Gotta love statistics.

It is a complaint that it ruins the fun and creates skill lag. Nothing else.

The players have the power to make or break the fun in a game too. Until they fix things, you could decide to run with as much people to not create too much lag. Or not.

Until they fix the flawed score system so it actually represents effort, you can decide to not abuse the system just for the score. Or not.

Totally different, we worked on ourselves to try drop, and it was a “battle” with ER (and VS actually) that we won.

You didn’t try to drop, or try to win, you tried to prevent another server from dropping (just like you actually tried to prevent us from dropping before).

Besides, it is not like you were neutral in our battle to drop, it was pretty clear you had full focus on ER capping their stuff, trying to prevent us from dropping that week. It was harder to lose that matchup than it was to win any previous. Anything we got capped was very hard to lose, even if nobody defended it.

While i understand, as a gamer, it can be a little frustrating for people with regular hours to play, don’t start with the hiding thing. You know we don’t hide at all the evening, like i said in my previous post :

When yesterday afternoon we had not a lot of people and lost everything, did you see someone flame here? calling you nolife or something like this?

1. You only don’t hide when you can’t hide, you can’t hide when the fight is in lord room, can you? VS does rarely do any open field fights, when you get caught, you run, fights happen when you try to take something, and when you try to defend something that has no wall / gate left to stand behind. Ow yeah, and when you see 15 unprepared enemy to run over with your 40+ zerg.
Not gonna complain about it, perfect viable pure wvw playing for score type. But don’t deny it, don’t brag about it, and don’t whine about it when we point it out rightfully.

2. You guys didn’t complain? Heh, you did. Not as much though, because you know you will just do another alarm clock. That makes it pretty easy to not complain. We also knew that. And what do you expect, that we won’t try to undo your alarm clocking? You guys cannot accept a fair loss, and thus you resort to alarm clocking trying to get the edge. Don’t expect us to just sit and take that kitten from VS. Also you guys have been doing this since the start of the game, it is pretty normal you get more complaints about it, as it keeps going on and on.

You guys would have more fun in lower bracket where you could actually win some open field fights that you don’t greatly outnumber, creating horrendous lags, instead, you abuse a flawed scoring system to stay on top, creating a situation where there are 4 servers fighting for top tier, with 1 of the servers failing at open field fights, resorting to alarm clocking just to stay on top.

You are destroying at least a good part the fun for yourself, and for other servers. Just because you can’t take this as a game, and only play for the score.
I guess it must be some baked-in French mentality.

3. We didn’t do anything to Jade Sea, Jade Sea loved nightcapping / alarm clocking too, but were/are just not as consistent and strong as VS with that. So yeah, naturally we did our best to undo that. And then Piken came, with Spanish, thus negating JS nightcapping. And you will never see over +600 numbers (or even +500). VS just has no honour in this regard.

You are creating a negative environment with all this, on top of that it is the greatest possible display of disrespect, so please don’t talk as if you respect your opposing servers. You don’t even respect the game this way. You may say you respect your enemy, but the actions taken show differently.
Again, from a pure score and balance point of view, 3 servers could easily never fight eachother, just playing 8 different hours of the day, creating an equal match in score. Is anyone going to have fun like that though? Only those that care about world completion I guess.

It is up to Anet and community to find a way to make playing at any hour viable, but matchup results should also reflect effort. And atm, least effort create greatest reward, as ticking +600 simply means you had no opponent nor effort doing it.

We kinda rolled into t1 earlier than expected, don’t think everything will roll perfectly, it never will anyway.

Besides, we don’t play for score, it will be a matter of finding the golden middleway. I think most of us did expect a bit stronger Deso though, so I hope next week will be better, and of course that you may stay in t1 to deliver good fights.

May good fights encourage more players back to WvW, and may coming update improve lag and fix culling.

I think it would just enhance the difference between those that play for points and those that play for fights. Those who play for points will have even more reason to run away and hide. Resulting in even less fun for those looking for a good fight. Also, it won’t gain much as you’d need 100k kills to get 10k points, which is easy to get without any effort when just PvDooring. Which is another crooked thing, the less effort required on the field, the easier it is to rack up points, and points for kills won’t change that.

Not to mention possible abuse by server zergs farming eachother just to generate more points. The bags each side would get would cover the repair costs anyway when numbers are great enough.
Believe me, it would happen.

Also I never called anyone a rat, maybe a frog once, just because people know what it points at, just like people using the word pug, or random. Many don’t like that word either, rightfully I guess.
But so what, there is nothing wrong with a frog, we try to save many poor frogs every year crossing the street in danger of being flattened by a car tire. I don’t even know why people use that word, but it sure is easier to type than french.

And yeah, what else is there to talk about VS, not much great fights to be had compared to, let’s say, Deso, but surely Piken, before the (unfortunate) split-up.

The sad thing is, the scoring and tier system is designed for balanced matchups to have fun, but, it could also be a crude joke on that: 3 servers PvDooring eachother for 8h a day will also be perfectly in balance in score, but where is the fun in that?
So yeah, there are righfully complaints about the way VS plays just to win. There is nothing honourable or admirable about ppl playing during the night when most people sleep, or during the day when most people work/go to school.
Nobody is going to stop anyone doing it though, but don’t expect any love or respect for that particular thing. And you should surely not complain about anyone trying to balance it out, in any way possible. I preferably get some oversea people than having people do unhealthy stuff just for a game.

It would be to the benefit of all if every server tried to improve their fighting skills, and not just their hide and seek skills. Because that surely is not what WvW is about. Then there could also be less complaining about weird coverage issues.

Also on a more personal note, when you try to analyze individuals, you should be more careful when coming to conclusions, you really don’t wanna fail so hard at it, it is better to just not do it, or at least not write down your personal conclusion.
I enjoy making long texts, and I never try to prove a whole server should be ashamed. Everyone should be ashamed, because, simply, we are human, and therefor, we fail plenty. Naja, you should not be ashamed about that, it is just human nature.

I’m sure I failed this message, because people will fail to understand it. And of course, because I’m merely a human.

I am looking for a guild to satisfy my non-WvW and non-PvP needs.
As I am part of a big WvW community I do not need to join any specific guild for that.

Some things to keep in mind: due to my link with the WvW community I won’t be representing the guild at all times.
I don’t care which server your guild is on, as it only matters for WvW which is already covered.

I don’t do much sPvP although I like it, that is last on the list at the moment.

My usual time of activity is from 7-9pm to 1-3am GMT+1. So I am looking for a guild with mainly that coverage too.

Some more stuffy stuff stuffs:

- I don’t just want to do dungeon runs, I want to have fun doing so. As this is GW2 I don’t wanna care too much about group composition or builds. Go for it, improve, use your brain. That is all you really need. All the rest can be seen as beating the system, and I want to beat the game. Too much people whine too much just because they rely too much on gear / builds instead of using their brain.
I rather take an hour having fun and a challenge than caring about doing it in 20mins for profitzzzZZZzzz.

- I hate glitching, abusing, namecalling, etc. I am the boring guy, you will need to play the funny people.

- It would be fun to just explore maps in group, doing some fun event chains, having some fun. Just for the heck of it. And obviously because there are some really fun event chains out there, especially with a small group.

- Jumping puzzles, mini dungeons, taking a dive, hunting down the thieving skritt (he actually popped up once in front of my face but the kitten, couldn’t… kill… it), and other fun things you can find in GW2 are on my “todo-list”. But I don’t feel much for doing it on my own.

- Somehow actually scheduling this weird stuff because I have limited time and for now still feel the need to help out where I can on the WvW department of my server.

Recap, of what I am noooOOOooot looking for:
- guild with people that treat GW2 as a second job. Skipping, glitching, trashing, optimising things to death just for profit or whatever silly reasons.
- guild with people that do not appreciate the little things and the details.

I will enlighten you about the mos website to get rid of any silly fetish for it.

- Scores are input by players, it is not using an API
- Scores that are input are mostly not the situation on tick and it can give quite a wrong perception
- Scores given often have a few hours gap

Just look at this matchup, notice something awkward? They control the scores somewhat as they put a delay on it, makes you wonder how that ever got through… They won’t notice it if you put a few more points for your server and a few less for your oponents.

And sometimes you would wonder how on earth a server wins a matchup, if you would just base yourself off the mos website…

So until there is an API from Anet, you can quack all you want about the mos website, but the people who were on the field know better.

Although by default we display the worlds that are hosted in your regional data center, you are free to select a home world from either region at this time. Some servers have more people able to play during night than others, it is only fair there are multiple ways to sustain 24/7 war. Luckily Anet realises this.
Whether you agree with 24/7 war is another point.

All servers are legit t1. We are having good fights.
t2 was boring for SFR, we got in t1 without PRX.
PRX are nice ppl and they decided to try our server out and were welcomed.

We have an open community, sadly we had to lock it down a bit because of certain poor VS individuals.
The world is what you make of it. Sadly enough a lot of ppl think it is fun to annoy oponents in many not so gentle ways.
This is still a game, not war. Just like sports are not war. Play fair. Be nice. Be ladies and gentlemen.
