Honestly? The idea of investing hours and hours into crafting a thing with purple text in the title is kind of repulsive to me. I don’t like crafting to begin with. Big ol’ headache. So the Engineers’ lack of reliance kits instead of weapons is appealing in itself.
Maybe some Legendary armor would be nice. Like a backpack that barfs lava or something.
I’m still in the experimental phase with Engineer, but in an HGH build I was able to run an average of 20 might in a fight and didn’t have much trouble at all holding my own, but for me, and this might be a weird complaint that will hold no weight whatsoever in srsface PvP, stacking FT to be powerful kind of robbed the class of the antics that I enjoy running around with my magnet shield, grenades, and gadgets.
Feels too much like a Pyro to me. I mean, I know that’s probably the whole point, but you know. Personal preference.
Hey there, I’m Urnathok, and I am very bad at Guild Wars 2.
That said, in the past I’ve been able to get past the fact fairly effectively by relegating myself to support roles with a Hammer/Bow 10/0/30/30/0 spec for WvWvW and light dungeon runs, and for sPvP I had some (liberal use of the word ‘some’) success with what I pretend is a good Two Sword/Rifle condition damage spec. The former let me tank a little with some healing/buffs on the side, and the latter let me jump around the arena pretty quickly and kill a few people if their cat is standing in front of the screen or a parakeet is chewing on their internet connection.
Now I come back after a good few months, and things have changed a little. So, say I want to reprise my old ways. It seems kind of hard to go wrong with a warrior tank spec with 10/0/30/30/0, maybe change that 10 to the last position, and start using Mace/Shield and Longbow, am I right? Been gallivanting around in Cleric gear, too, but I might ditch that now that I hear support warrior is a waste of time.
As for PvP, I’m reading a lot of complaints about condition warriors being lackluster, so that shuts down Swords McGee. My honest impression is that, as a warrior going into PvP, you’re going to get hit with a lot of flashy things by other classes that will make you dead when the flashy things stop, so we do well by shutting down the flashy things before they happen. Maybe Mace/Mace and Sword/Warhorn, 30/0/30/0/10? Something like that?
I’ve been combing the forums for interesting specs, and I’m a big fan of the longbow, but I’ve had trouble making it work well in sPvP. It just doesn’t seem to pack the AoE damage to keep up with most others and justify picking up.
That’s pretty fantastic. ‘Course, I’m a sucker for ‘U’ names. Good mix of sounding sufficiently Norse and being hard to pronounce. Points for the translation, too.
