Enemies continually become “Invulnerable” in the middle of a combat for absolutely no (valid) reason whatsoever.
(Vent: I love this game, but this one thing has aggravated me to no end and I am seriously about ready to stop playing altogether because of the level of frustration this causes.. the game is meant to be enjoyed – not to cause unnecessary and incomparable levels of frustration.)
I notice that this happens with most enemies when they become blind… they act as though you have moved out of combat range? Or that being blind enables them pretend that no enemy is present and by some psychosomatic magic are no longer subject to objectively present, and threatening enemies.
This also happens more often when fighting creatures under water.
Still, this happens often enough while simply fighting an enemy, if you happen to move more than a few feet from its starting location… or sometimes, apparently randomly. Nothing pulls you out of the immersive experience like terrible AI such as this… There is no reason that any enemy should be programmed to drop out of combat like this. Limiting the distance it will chase a player is reasonable – but that is very different than acting as though an enemy is no longer fighting while actively taking damage… And there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON that any enemy should EVER become invulnerable. EVER.
(This does not include NPCs that shouldn’t be killed for story or event progress obviously)
Please, please fix this.
