Doing story on second character. If you run ahead of Rytlock, the entire instance bugs out and the NPCs wont move so you have to restart. If you wait for him, the 2 achievements are still bugged. You can get Stick to the Landing though. Not sure about the tendril achievement as I did that on my first character’s run.
These 2 are the last ones I have left until I get Act 1 Mastery. Weird part? My achievement says 17/18 even though 2 are unchecked…

Then after reading the suggestions in this thread, I went back to my first character who has done the entire story to try to get those last 2 achievements. On this character if I try to run ahead (I waited at the first page location), Rytlock appears to be bugged. However once the talking is over, the first page can be interacted with and you can complete the ornithologist achievement. Even though at this point I was still missing the smith achievement, I got Act I mastery achievement and reward. After this, I went tot he location of the cave at the top of the stairs to see if Rytlock would follow but he wouldn’t, so I restarted the instance.

This time I stayed with the NPCs. Whilst climbing the stairs, the first smith’s black dead NPC dot appeared. I rezzed him as soon as that cave was cleared and he gave me the achievement. (I note this because dulfy’s guide says “you will need to talk to Beigarth after you cleared the Mordrem camp before the tendrils” and as such I am not sure which was version was the intended.) For the last smith I waited until after the Overseer was killed to rez him. Was able to get the achievement.

By the way, the achievement completion stars in the story journal don’t show the fully completed stars picture until you finish all the achievements in the Act, instead of showing the fully completed stars per story instance. I think it’s way more confusing that way.

(side note: A few weeks ago I noticed a similar NPCs-not-following bug in the personal story where you are at Concordia and then a messenger arrives telling you to go save the researchers in the ruins/cave. For that one, even sticking with the NPCs doesn’t help, so I was stuck and unable to finish personal story on my mesmer.)

Update: I taxi’d into another instance that also was T1 about same % BUT it was on DAY instead of night.
He finally spoke to me!

The fact that a lot of the work arounds have to do with switching instances of the map (logging out/in, swapping servers, etc) makes me wonder if it is related to status of the map. If it helps the current one I am on is Tier 1 like 10% full and 0 participation because it likes to also throw me onto empty maps…

Mine is as well bugged.
It says to talk to him (I’ve already successfully glided over and the event has updated to reflect that) but there is no option to do that. He continues playing his guitar, which leads me to believe the “now he should ONLY check to see if you’re on the “Speak to Scout Acan” step, and talk to you if you are.” is still not working as intended.
I will check again after your fix that’s going to be pushed tomorrow but as mine wasn’t moving or in combat it’d be a miracle if it fixes it! O_O

Same. Mine is so bad sometimes that I get 1 or 0.5 fps. :/

I have been also having ping spike issues recently, particularly since the recent patch.

However, keep in mind that apparently the “ping” calculated in GW2 is not just the ping but also the time it takes for game to process something or another, so it should be higher than your actual ping.

thanks!! only thing is that I got like 3 foxfire clusters from gathering in mount maelstrom so it looks like you can get them elsewhere. it does seem to come from trees though

anyone know how much plant food or how much foxfire essence you need?

They’re part of crafting a new back item, I believe. Not sure how many you need though.

I’m having the same problem.

I am one of those people who “flips” items to make gold. I had about 10 buys up from yesterday, the value totaling approx 10g-15g. I went to remove them, and the money did not update to the Pick-Up tab. Sooo now I’m out 10g-15g. :/

I’d screenshot, but I don’t know what to show you since the buys have already been removed so I can’t show visual proof that I even had buys up.

at least a dozen people are having this problem and are standing outside the aetherblades dungeon.
I confirm that it does that the server is full and that you should have your party member join you on your server. There is a number, but I didn’t grab it.
