I’m thinking Anet will probably save new weapons for an expansion. Though I think if there were choices of skills for each weapon slot, even if 2 choices per slot, it would be good to have.
Exactly. Right now I see the scepter as the 1 handed condition damage weapon, and the main hand pistol could be the more direct damage ranged weapon. This skill would add another element of trickyness to the mesmer arsenal while still being a good direct damage attack.
This is an idea I had that could be a very tricky skill for pvp that I don’t think would be too strong either. A skill for pistol main hand that would grant a very short invisibility(1-2 seconds); upon coming out of invisibility the mesmer would emerge looking like a phantasmal duelist and unload with duel pistols. The skill would then change to illusionary unload in the UI with the same cooldown as the phantasmal duelist’s. If the mesmer dodge rolls or uses any other skill than illusionary unload, it breaks the disguise and the mesmer is back to his/her old self.
To start off I want to say that the mesmer has been the class I’ve played the most in my time spent playing Guild Wars 2, and I’ve been really enjoying it. Over my time playing I’ve naturally thought of some ideas that would make my time ‘mesmering’ easier/funner.
1. Phantasms as a different colour dot in the UI.
This one is pretty self explanatory, make phantasms either a lighter or darker colour dot on the UI than clones. I think this would make it much easier to tell how many phantasms you have up at once without having to look around the battlefield in hectic battles. This would be very welcome in my phantasm build.
2. Portal range notification.
This is another idea for extra convenience. Instead of having to use your minimap as a guide to portal range, it would be nice if there was some sort of notification for when you were out of range to connect the portals. Either the icon being greyed out on the UI or simply not being able to use the skill when out of range would both be great.
3. Pistol main hand skill idea.
