Guild Wars 2

So this is an e-mail I sent to the Support Team;

This isn’t really an issue but I have no other way of contacting to get an answer as everywhere I look I get “unofficial” answers. Just a small question as to if Oceanic Servers were ever going to be created or will be on the horizon, I am a faithful Australian player and my only true fault with Guild Wars 2 is the lack of servers and the Lag I suffer, I have a 100mb/s down and 3mb/s up speed internet but due to latency between US and Aus it means nothing. I’m sure you are aware of the good following that Australia and all of Oceania has in GW2 shown by the guilds. Anyway, long winded question aside. If you can’t answer I will fully understand.

Pretty much how I envision this concept is that by having Oceanic Servers it will alleviate stress on the US servers with high latency players taking space up and help the Internal Development Team that is in charge of fixing lag issues by giving a chunk of high latency players in the Oceanic region a place to call home.

Rough look would have to have 3-6 servers, WvW could be played between each other for a few rounds to get a rough figure for server population and player interest, if it doesn’t work cut the losses and transfer back to US.

I can’t really foresee any major problems that should arise. If anyone else has any input, I’ll happily discuss this topic for the next week if we can come to some common ground of a concept to put forward to the Development team.

I’ve trawled around the forums and reddit for quite some time now and to no avail of finding any answer or questions about this subject, either from a Developer or Customer.
