No.
Don’t even for a moment think that i rather spend my time in a forum, rather than playing the game. I love the game. I love RPlaying in the game. However, I simply can’t play the game anymore, for reasons i and others mention above.
I go with the flow… MMOs change, we adapt.. But this time, it feels like we’re trying to swim on deep waters, with a steel ball chained to our leg. So i have to yell this time, adding my voice with the rest of us, in order for A-Net to hear.
This. I had my concerns about the megaserver, but what A-Net said at the time eased those concerns. They’ve always came out favourable since the launch of GW1 in my eyes. But this time, they’ve swung and missed massively, to the point where I felt like I actually had to post in an official feedback topic.
Same… I actually rage quit the game this morning through not being able to meet the group I wanted to in the Grove… I am still hoping for a fix or an opt out… but at the moment the game is frustrating me.
Megaservers.
I was willing to wait and see… at the moment they are broken, buggy and not fit for purpose.
I’m an RPer in the PvE environment. I expressed my concerns over this update before it went live, as did many others… the update has turned out worse than I feared.
Guilds scattered across maps. Language servers combined so people cannot understand each other. Trolling is a real problem without an efficient blocking system.
I buy gems every month. I play GW2 because I like the lore and the business model. I want to support a game that does things a little differently.
At the moment The RP community is being decimated by this. One of your most loyal player bases is being compromised by this update. Events are already being cancelled, people are quitting and threatening to move on.
We need and RP server or a megaserver system that works as intended, grouping people in guilds, home worlds, and uses contacts list.
Failing that, let People OPT IN AND OUT of megaservers. That seems to be an obvious solution to me that should keep everyone happy.
If things continue in this way there will be one less gem buyer on the game and I will be asking paypal for a refund on my latest gem purchase.
I assume losing players is what you were trying to avoid through this update. It’s had the opposite effect from what I can see.
I was a GW1 player and I love GW2… Please listen to the feedback and fix the issues raised or risk alienating some of your most committed players.
