WvW needs some %population balance, the break out is nice but it helps very little. A team with 10 players can start the break out but then a group of 25 enemy shows up and you are done. The servers that is unable to cap and HOLD points then has a large drop in server population and never stands a chance vs higher population servers. Put in a % population cap that makes WvW full basses on the lowest number of players on a server, in WvW at that time. This will server to make WvW competitive and allow for the use strategy. It will also sever to balance the server populations to a closer = numbers across servers at any given time.

1 minute Stealth Elite Skill?

Every class should have a 30sec Stealth skill! And then give the theif a 1min elite stealth as they are the masters of stealth……. Really and then also change the game to hide and sneak instead of guild wars….. It is already hard to see peps in WvW after they come out of invs they can attack you for 1maybe 2 hits and you never see them. Remove Invs from the game is best fix… or fix rendering!! Take out stealth or give every class access to it.

In pVp match 1 theif was able to cloak and dagger 3 of us for a good 30sec and avoid almost all dmg. The 3 of us had single target based attacks and not any good aoe’s, it would be really nice to have some skill that one of us could use that would remove invs form invs enemy, or something to locate them. The other idea is that if you use invs you cant move or you come out from invs, or something like that to prevent this invs come out dmg invs come out dmg and almsot never get hit. Can you look into this?

..and I’m not the only one thinking this. It’s become a complete zerg fest and is nowhere near what it was made out to be.

Scenario #1:

Group A of 5 players attacks a tower with a single ram. Group B with 25 players sees orange swords at tower and swiftly gets there. Group B wipes Group A with ease, where as Group A barely did 10% damage to the door.

Scenario #2:

Group C of 30 players quickly builds 3 catapults on the side of a tower aiming to the wall and start to attack. Group E of 5 players is trying to defend said tower and while heading there the tower already flips. Group C heads to supply camp before Group E even makes it to tower. If Group E attacks tower, see Scenario #1.

Those are common scenarios, but without the semi complexities of setting up a single Mesmer who does a portal drop 50yrd out, sets up group/self stealth, and then rushes into the middle of a group of siege defenders and pops the exit portal. All of a sudden you go from defending it with a few arrow carts and Ballistic (an easy tactic to stall the enemy, though not slaughter them), to a pointless defense that gets wiped in 30sec or less.

Anti-zerg mechanics such as AOE is not really AOE at all…because of a lock on 5 players. You can’t make people scatter when you hit only 5 of them out of the 30 there; it just doesn’t happen. Siege isn’t scary at all unless you have a bunch of it…but you have no time to set it up before the zerg rolls over the place.

Things need changes. Zergs need to …die.

You need to play sPvP and stop crying about large scale siege warfare.

That’s what WORLD v. WORLD is. If you don’t coordinate with a skilled world v. world guild, and you don’t participate in a voice chat for your server, then yeah you will be the first one in here crying about the kitten “zergs” screwing up your little few-man rolling groups.

However, if you have those things, you’ll discover that on good WvW servers, there IS NO ZERG. However, there ARE large coordinated, strategic armies following commanders, dividing into teams and tactically seiging objectives and defending territory against other large scale coordinated enemy forces.

That is EXACTLY what WvW is supposed to be about. This from a fanatic Dark Age RvR player.

There is room for “gank” or “ninja” teams, for small guilds fielding 10-15 on the battlefield, even if they for some reason do not want to participate in server wvw chat or run with tactical commanders. But small groups will always – and should always – be at risk from the main armies. That’s what large-scale siege warfare is all about.

Get rid of your so-called “zerg?” That’s why ANET made different styles of PvP. So my “fun” doesn’t have to get “screwed” by your fun and vice versa. In addition to the myriad of actually places for successful small squad play in WvW, there is also sPvP and Tourney play, for those who can stand any scenario in which their 5-10 people might run into 25-40 and get killed.

As far as WvW goes, welcome to the battlefield, son. Quit crying and start coordinating.

That would be true if you did not have guilds with large number of members moving from low ranking sever to low ranking sever just to get there WvW titles with out any real resistance. You can voice chat zerg what ever you want but when you are out numbered 5 to 1 not much fun.

World vs World is one of the best PvP gaming experiences to ever come out, you need to look at the bigger picture, there is so much more to this then just zerging. 10 organized people defending against a 30 man zerg, = roasted zerg, even when that zerg is organized. It’s all about tactics and strategy. There is a way to counter those 3 catapults with even just 1 person defending. That’s right, 1 person can stagnate a 30 man zerg.

I think one of the major problems of WvW is that most people haven’t dug deep enough to truly understand it and instead choose to point out the things that they didn’t like and demand change when most of these things are there for a reason, for every problem there is a solution.

Oh Please Oh Please great one show me this 1vs30 way I must learn.!!!!

WvW was one of the biggest draws for me to this game. There seems to be no real effort to even out play, you have large number guilds going from low rank sever to low rank sever and just crushing the other teams in an effort to get there titles for WvW. I have played on the same sever from day 1, and fill that some effort to stop this action by large mass number flow from sever to sever should be made, make transfers cost a great deal of gems, and or make them once every year or not at all. This might allow for the auto ranking system to start working. Another idea to avoid the limitation of server transfer would be to only allow a % of play difference., example if server A has 100 players in WvW then Server B is only allowed a max of 20% excess to that number, so the max players server B is allowed to have in WvW is 120 maybe even a smaller % would be better. The server population for WvW would start to even out because you would have the mass numbers of players on one team moving to another sever to simply be able to WvW creating a more even number bass and providing a more strategic and enjoyable game environment. I have spoken to many of my friends and fellow players about this and we all fear that if something drastic as this is not implemented soon a large number of players will find other more enjoyable games to play. The WvW environment has so much possibly with good effort at fixing and improving this game will keep a large fan bass, as it stands now small guilds and groups of friends cant find any enjoyment in WvW only large numbers that move from server to server and own everything.

Culling has been improved in PvP.

Every class can do this.

If you have an instant cast teleport ability of any kind, you can use it in the middle of any other channeled ability or cast.

Yes….but other classes can’t do 15k damage in 1-2seconds, nor can they tp directly to a target while channeling other skills and also dealing considerable damage with the no animation leap.

They need a cool down for all invs skills, and stealing as with any other tp skills needs to have a visual effect so other players are able to use dodge skill.

Outmanned buff = insulting

although i agree that rewarding the winning server with the orb buff probably isnt a good idea, i would have to disagree with giving it to the losing server.

you shouldnt suddenly be able to kill people just because youre losing, you should be able to kill them because of how well you pvp.

if you give the “outmanned” server bonus stats just for being outnumbered, its like telling the server with higher pop. to continue zerging because theres no way you can have a fair fight if the numbers are even.

If you are on losing sever, with outmaned buff then you have less players to fight with, the buff would not be something to make you a supper hero that is op all of a sudden but it would help even the odds of the fight, and create an environment that would promote people on that server to play, and possibly have more people join it removing the buff creating an even playing field once more.
