For those who care, it seems that AMD Gaming Evolved App was the culprit. Since removing that software, my crashes have stopped occurring.

I generally have a monitoring tool (Speccy) being used every now and then just for paranoia sake and can report that those values do not go to alarming amounts. But for validity, I have been playing and running around for awhile now with Speccy running to check.

The readings:
CPU: Averaging around 49°C. Highest amount I saw was ~52°C
GPU: Averaging around 67°C. Highest amount I saw was ~70°C
Motherboard and my HDD’s were all well under 30°C

As far as my research and knowledge goes, these are completely in the acceptable range of temperatures for when running GW2. I should have included this info in the original post. But thank you for mentioning it.

This is an issue that has happened a few times, and is rather frustrating when it occurs in the middle of situations that require time (such as of a couple of minutes ago, FPS dropped a few min before Tequatl spawned, and then I crashed with Tequatl about 5-10 seconds from death, which resulted in me not getting a single reward of participating in the event).

I have the following specs (all drivers up to date):
i5-4690K 3.5GHz CPU
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card
Windows 8.1

These specs run the game on full with ease resulting in between 50-70 FPS if on full depending on the area, with exceptions to world bosses. When the game is running, my graphics cards fans become audible, which is fine and to be expected. But occasionally the fan suddenly becomes inaudible again and my FPS drops down to ~7 when on max settings. Then a couple of minutes later, a crash occurs. As far as I can remember, this has never happened upon map change, only after running around for awhile, including mid dungeon/fractal which has resulted in a few missed out chests. So far the only fix is to completely restart the game (which is not your first choice when you have been waiting 20 min in a community hosted Tequatl kill). I am interested to see if anyone else encounters this issue, and if they have discovered any fixes to it.

On that note, wouldn’t it be nice if there was a system that allowed for a person to still receive a reward if there was a crash or disconnect that occurred and that person had done enough towards an event to warrant a reward.

1. I say +1 to race change as well as the order change.
2. I personally think there should be an official poll created that does not allow commenting but allows for different types of votes on the race change/order change options.
3. Finally I believe that the implementation of a race change would not be so hard to do. From what I under stand, all story lines eventually link up at a point where the Pact is formed and all further story line tree progress is all the same. So in that sense you could keep the story equivalent. If there are the same number of story steps for each race, then making some algorithm for changing the story tree over shouldn’t be impossible. In terms of what gets done with cultural equipment, could be debated. Lastly the skills. I would say all skill points spent on skills gets refunded and then once the race change occurs, the skill points can be redistributed.
4. Obviously due to the story line being different behind the races, any achievement points will not get rewarded for a different story line. Therefore a certain criteria is required for the race change. I.e. 100% story line completion. I believe many people are prepared to pay a decent amount for this race change, which would be a great source of more income with a simple implementation.
