I completely agree! Engineer is awesome! A big thank you to Arena Net for designing such a fun profession.
The things that I like the most are
- variety (different weapons that feel different),
- knockbacks (ever tried Overcharge rifle Shot on a dolyak? Funniest animation ever!),
- kiting (very important, without it you just stand there which takes a lot of fun out of the game),
- visual and auditory design of skills and weapons.
When I say weapons I actually mean weapons and weapon kits.
Obviously Engineer just suits me. For example, my first character was a Mesmer and I just couldn’t get it. Playing a Mesmer felt too much like manipulation and deception (doing something while your goal is something totally else) for me which fits Mesmer’s description. So nothing wrong with the profession, just not my style.
