I heard this old history that there is no capes in GW2 because some kind of bug on Charr
plz tell this isnt true.
This might be better off in the discussion section for future reference but while I’m here may as well post lol.
Kodan:
I will admit this is a fun idea and I can appreciate the sentiment but these guys are just far to close to norn to be considered truly viable for a new playable race. Not to mention the struggle to make armor fit on them and it would also seem that they don’t have a whole lot of spellcasters, being a primarily warrior based society.Centaur:
[Insert joke about mounts here]. Lol that aside the centaur race will likely never come to pass for a number of reasons. For one overall they are a belligerent race with a fierce hatred for humans after years of war and enslavement and much of the race now fights fiercely in an effort to reclaim the land lost to the humans. As of recently with Jormag awakening and pushing other races out even further the centaurs have also come into contact with the norn and the results were as expected, they soon started fighting as well. I will say that there are peaceful tribes of Centaurs as well and that in many ways they are similar to the charr who also had a fierce hate for humans however I still don’t see it happening, especially with what they’d have to do to armor to make it work.Ogres:
An overall tribal and primitive race, they simply don’t seem to have the capacity to be anything other than a slightly smarter more belligerent form of animals.Dwarves:
While the dwarves could have potentially been playable I believe it to be rather unlikely now as ever since they turned themselves into stone and went to fight Primordus no ones really seen much of them since. Maybe when we finally kill Primordus if they return to their normal forms it would be possible but not in its current state.Tengu:
Okay now lets take a look at the sentient avian race known as the tengu, the most viable option. Note that I say the most viable not because this race is my favorite or even because I want to see them added but because its the most feasible of all the potential races. Unlike many of the other races often suggested Tengu are seen throughout GW1 and GW2, have their own sophisticated version of society, contain classes that include warriors and spellcasters, and are probably the easiest to apply the current armor choices to. They already have a platform from which to go off of in that they’ve sealed themselves off from most other cultures after a rocky history with humans and have recently begun to venture out more now that the elder dragons have risen, helping in the charge against Zhaitan. Despite this they are still rather xenophobic at the moment but their lore is set that they could emerge at any time.
Thanks man for your comments. I already transfer this post to discussion section and I kind answer what i think about the lore issue that you pointed here.
- Kodan
- Centaur
- Ogre
- Dwarf
- Tengu
Plz add fast right? LoL
Dont tell me this is impossible because of some issue in lore they have free creation power to make any kind of lore to introduce a race as playable maybe they find some issues on armor skins which is izi to fix or animation like centaur doing a heartseeker lol.
Make beastmastery traitline increase pet size.
Thats its a nice suggestion. When u equip this traitline your pet should grow to some kind of adult form
The size of the pets never bothered me. But I also run all Shortest possible height Sylvari so things seem different for me.
But if we’re going to talk pets and size.
I want a wolf like Garm.
Man Garm its awesome indeed besides the fact its black wolf another thing they should add too.
Sooooo imagine the Wyvern!!! hahahaha
Man they should at least tell why it cant be done.
I would like to see something like this too. GW1 had a place where you could save and load builds.
I guess the problem is that there are only really a few skill that get changed. For me anyway, its mainly the trails, and because we have to pay to reset them, it’s unlikely that we will see a way of saving and loading them for free.
Maybe make it possible so that we save and load our builds too and from the professions traders?
I was thinking more about the spvp, but it could be done for both.
Its time to implement something like this, especially cause every professions has inumerous options of build.
And will prevent some idiots (like a friend of mine) create 3 necros and 2 mesmer of the same race, just because he cant memorize some build.
1) Significant change in nature trait, making spirits a viable option
2) Improve pets, especially for wvw (I want it bigger too, but this is just a matter of appearance).
3) Significant change in SBs and LBs skills, making it more reliable in pvp.
Someone using a viable spirit build for pvp?
Share plz!
It’s a visual issue. People already complain about how it can be difficult to interpret what Asura characters are doing in PvP because of there small size, as well as how animated the game is which makes it harder to focus on combat and figure out what is actually happening.
Larger pets would only increase the visual problems people currently experience, and it would make combat even more graphically difficult.
If anything, for tactical purposes, I would love to make the pets as tiny as possible. Give me a mosquito sized pet, so that it is hard to follow its movements and interpret its actions, so its near impossible to tell whether it is winding up for a big spike damage attack.
It’s just a difference of opinion in how it would implement into an “in practice” scenario I suppose, because I do think the mechanics behind the size of the pets was pretty cool in guild wars 1. I hated them graphically as well though, as it blocked visuals and made it harder to play against other people at times by blocking/obscuring sightlines on positioning.
Disagree in all terms, but of course everybody has your own opinion.
I still belive that wont be a problem in pvp, since everything can block a animation of an asura, and is not a bigger pet that will make diference.
I realy dont see any visual problems in scenarios, we will always have mesmer with tons of copies necros with minions, so i dont think that it’s a big diference, cause anyone can distinguish a player from a pet.
but again i see your point, just disagree.
My point its Garm.
Because it is a pet that looks cool even beside a norn ranger.
Even so u say that norn are a large race like the charr, and so the pets seem tiny, dire wolves and bears should be more “realistic”, I mean they should be more impressive because after all bears and dire wolves are bigger than the size they are now.
And i disagree about the pvp problem. It’s hard to see pets dying because someone is focusing on them, almost every time they die to aoe spell. So they going bigger will have no impact on pvp.
Well to be fair, they are all “Juvenile” pets. Which means they are the young version of the animal they are.
So they stay juvenile forever? they should grow up at some time…maybe a lvl progression for pets idk…i really dont care i just want to see my wolf like Garm, without using a skill for it =/
Is it just me or all pets rangers seem really small?
I would like to see a bear looking like a bear not like a bear puppy, same for wolfs, birds and felines.
Im saying that cause i think that everyone already seem Garm, Eir Stegalkin pet. That it’s a really wolf.
And plz do not tell me about the skill that makes the animal looks larger is ridiculous
I agree partially. Most of the pets are the same size as their mob counterpart, though Garm is still awesome.
One suggestion that has come up before that I think you would appreciate is, since they are juvinile creatures we are taming, maybe they could grow older. There were numerous methods, my preference is a form of special pet xp, and as they gain xp they grow older and as a result grow in size.
Agree! as long they grow, i’m good with any method!

Heavy Shield / Tower Shield : Warrior – Guardian
u are saying like a battle shield? i really thought about a battle shield, but how this will work? 2h? primary weapon? i really dont know
throwing spears for ranger, instead of the boomerang…
Agree but we can keep boomerang.
Throwing Spears with shield will look great.
More suggestions
Orbs – Elementalist and Mesmer
Double Edged Sword – Ranger, Thief, Warrior and Mesmer.
One Hand Crossbow – Ranger and Thief.
Anyone has more ideas? especially for engineers
The biggest problem is to introduce a weapon that many class can use, so I do not know the viability of these suggestions but there are some ideas here.
Fist Weapons – Thief and Warriors*
Whip – Thief, Ranger* and Necro*
Scythe – Necro and Mesmer*
Great Axe – Warrior
Polearm – Warrior, Guardian, Mesmer* and Elementalist*
Boomerang – Ranger and Thief*
Tome – Guardian, Elementalist and Necro.
In Swords type introduce katana.
In Mace type introduce flail.
*I don’t know if in this class will look kind of strange.
I really think that a Druid shapeshifter will be different than a norn that can only transformed in pve but point taken when u say that norn wont feel special if a druid of any race won this ability but I still wanna see a decent shapeshifter with dencent skills especially in pvp.
About Chloromancer could be something with buff and even some dmg I dont know. no need to be a dedicated heal trait.
Geomancer traits would be more specific using crystal instead of earth maybe
About Summoner u are missing the point here. Summoning pets from hell it’s something but summoning a pack of spirit wolves or a giant treants would be awesome.
The point is mix some classes and bring new ideas so the player who likes to play with elementalist and necro will definitely play this class cause it will have a little bit of both.
But in the end i agree this class wont come out =/

Shapeshifter – Decent one with good fighting skills especially for pvp.
Chloromancer – healing specialist who draws on the vital energies of plants and nature to find a balance between life and death.
Geomancer – like earth magic
Summoner – Pets like treants different type of wolves and bears or other nature/magical creatures.
Definitely one of the funniest classes to play.
Would be great see a decent Shapeshifter class with some supports Skills and Pet.
Traits would be like
Shapeshifter
Chloromancer
Geomancer
Summoner
And something to provide melee bonus.
Basicaly would be a class that could either fight as a melee or fight as a mage. Somenthing like mesmer i think but the shapeshifter could be a great difference.
I want a wolf like Garm.
