Thanks for your answer I bought the Gw2 with disks but when I use them they still download from the internet.

I have no idea what the bluescreen was actually, it happened randomly and seems to have stopped. I’m redownload as we speak. It’s about 1Mbps so can take some time lol.

Hey guys

After 3 hours my gw2 was almost fully installed (2% remaining). At this time I had an unfortunate bluescreen.
When I go into my gw2 folder i have 3 things there: gw2.dat, gw2.exe and gw2.tmp

My problem is that the gw2.dat file is 15GB because i already installed the game almost fully. However when i start gw2.exe it beings installing the game from scratch. Is there any way i can avoid this and use everything i already downloaded?

Help appreciated.

I’m an informatics/ICT student who likes gaming. I game mostly in the weekend and maybe 1-2 days in the week, especially sunday the hours quickly rack up to 5+ so I don’t know if that is extensive use of a pc (aside from everyday internetting and programming)

I need a laptop to use primarily for gaming, but also one I can take to class for 3 or more hours to program when we’re not in the computer room. (and not always plugged in to charge the battery)

My laptop is a good 4 years old now and I feel it’s time to replace it. When I look at a new pc I expect a couple of things:

-It can run new games on high-quality setting for a good amount of time
-I can use it the way I mentioned above for some years
-It doesn’t have to be cheap but not too expensive also

So after reading some reviews on different laptops I decided I’d go for the Alienware M17x laptop. From what I understand it’s a high end toy, I read alot of positive reviews.

So here I am asking for some final advice before purchasing this. Do or don’t? How will it run this beautiful game called GW2 (best release in years if you ask me).

As a programmer my knowledge of the hardware and stuff like this is minimal (still higher than an average person since I’m an ICT student :P) so I would like the opinion of someone with extensive knowledge, or someone who has experienced this laptop.

I’m currently a level 15 warrior and I’m having problems while leveling (aka I’m dying alot).

These are my stats:
- 212 power
-123 precision
-92 toughness
-101 vitality
-404 attack
-16% crit chance
-244 armor
-1530 health

I’m using a greatsword. Skills are Mending/signite of might/signet of fury. I currently have 5 points in the strenght tree.

I’m dying alot. 2-3 mobs are hard. Vetaran mobs 1V1 can kill me sometimes. Even if i kill them i somehow die afterwards from alot of dmg (combat log doesnt show sh*it tbh).

Any help, tips and pointers much appreciated!
