Hi I have a few suggestions/requests for guild upgrades. I think these upgrade suggestions would fit nicely under a new category like Technology or Communications.

1. GPS – Guildie Positioning System: It would be nice to see guildies that are not in your party on the map. You can make them gold dots (as guildies show up as gold names). It can be the current map you are on, the world map, or something you can toggle (for the massive 500+ guilds). It would be super useful for WvW and guild activites.

2. Encrypted Communication Channel: The usual guild chat is nice, but a lot of time we talk about random stuff. It would be nice to have a second guild chat system that we can restrict to certain ranks. It would be useful for leaders and officers to have a channel to keep track of information and tactics discussions.

3. Guild Homing Pigeons: Give us the ability to send out an email to all people in the guild (rep or no rep). Yes I know we have a message board, but I don’t think people constantly check the message board every minute. This would be nice to alert all members of activities that might be happening soon. To reduce abuse/spam we should be able to modify which rank is able to use this feature.

4. Guild Leader/Officer Beacons: Give us something similar to the commander icon, but for guild leaders/officers. The difference is only representing guild members can see this icon when it is turned on. Again this will help lots with WvW if we just want to roam in a small group bigger than 5 and not confuse other players on the map. This will also help a lot with organizing group activities.

5. Guild Map: Right now we can mark things on the map for party members. Can we get something similar but guild wide (this can be toggled per player if they don’t want to see it). And perhaps make the “lines” more persistent. It would be nice to convey routes and stuff for people before hand.

I think devs mentioned there is a tricky bug that is preventing them from making siege plans non-soul bound, or even account bound. If they can fix it, that would be great too.

On top of that, most people who don’t usually play WvW wouldn’t know who to send the plans to. I’m not sure if they would put in the effort to even find out and send it.

That’s a good idea. I’ll contact a commander the next time I’m on WvW. Though I would still like to see this idea go forward as well. As this will also include people who won’t even bother donating plans, and just leave and probably destroy the plans. If the ability to donate or destroy the plans take the same effort, it’s more likely they will donate them?

Me and a few friends are casual WvWers, so we would join zergs or flip camps for a couple hours and even do some jumping puzzles. Along the way we picked up a few siege plans. We rarely use the siege plans unless it’s on a rare occasion that a Commander asks for it and we have the exact one in our inventory.

I’ve also read on the forums lots of complaints about PvE people taking up queue slots in WvW so they can do map completion and jumping puzzles and not contributing to WvW at all.

So my suggestion would be to devise a way to contribute without actively fighting. Which is having a server wide Siege Bank. People with excess siege plans can right click and “Deposit plans into siege bank” or visit the bank to do the deposit. This way all those plans non-WvWers get when doing map completion or puzzles will be put to good use and WvWer can spend less to get siege plans.

To prevent trolling, we can limit that only Commanders are able to remove the plans from the bank. That will also give the commander status another special ability. The bank itself can only be accessed at the home base, or even an upgrade item like the siege vendor.

Good idea? Bad? Feel free to add to this.
