Just an update.

Tried a long-shot at doing a clean install on my system and accidentally installed 32bit instead of 64bit. Anyhow.. i was going to install again but thought i’d give the mission another shot and well….

All went fine.. no system crashes, so i guess i had corrupt files somewhere in my system or your thought on bad RAM is correct. will still go about testing the memory just to make sure.

Ahh.

If you haven’t updated your video, sound, and MB (NIC, etc) drivers, do that.

You can also see if http://nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html gives you an idea of what caused the BSOD.

Hi thanks for getting back to me again.

I’ve checked the required websites and can confirm im currently on the latest available drivers for my hardware. when my crashes occurred i had no BSOD come up on screen just frozen graphics/unresponsive PC/ and jittery/looping sound

I’m checking out the link you provided to see if that can offer more info

Hello,

I’ve been playing GW2 quite actively for the last 2 weeks and had no issues until now. I’m currently on one of the personal story quests and have tried 4 times to complete it but each and every time my system crashes and stops responding entirely and has to be force restarted.

Each of the 4 times this has happened it has been at different points within the mission. Although i am not as tech-savvy as i would like. I expect it might be my GPU causing this as it seems to be a high-stress mission (lots of enemies, friendlies .etc)

Unable to take GPU temp at time of crash due to the obvious reasons but monitoring it during the mission seems to be around 59-65C

Looking for any help/input regarding this problem.

Specs:

CPU – AMD FX4100 (running @ stock 3.6ghz)
GPU – HD 6870 (again @ stock settings)
RAM – 8GB corsair XMS3
Mobo – Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
PSU : Corsair AX860
