Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone,

So I’ve been having a problem where the game freezes, usually after about an hour or so of play time (sometimes more and sometimes less). When the game freezes I can alt + tab and I can open the task manager but I just cant close the game. alt + f4 does nothing. When I alt +tab the game doesn’t fully minimize, A small grey box called “Guild Wars 2” still appears in the upper right hand corner.

The odd thing is, I haven’t always had this problem. Maybe six months ago, there were no issues and all of the sudden they started. I’m a super casual player only now just getting into the game more so I can’t really give an exact date.

I tried to look up other fixes for similar problems, like reinstalling which didn’t work. Another idea was to download an older driver, but that ended up causing a whole mess of problems for my pc. I ended up just reinstalling the latest drivers. That didn’t help either. If reinstalling the old drivers is the fix, I’ll try to give it another shot.

My PC is kinda low end, but I’m in the process of updating it here and there. Also I should note, as far as I know it is only Guild Wars that does this. MGS5, Rocket League, and other games run fine as far as I can tell and as I said before Guild Wars 2 was working fine six months ago.

I feel like this issue almost makes it pointless to play. I’d love to get into WvW but can’t if the game is just going to freeze at random points.

AMD FX 6100 Six Core
4GB of RAM
500W PSU
Nvidia Geforce GTX 960

EDIT: Oh yes I run Windows 10, the same problem occurred when I had windows 7 though.
