I’ve been doing the shut client down, start it again… and slowly got it to 2 files left/50%. On one of the occasions I went to shut down the client I ticked “Auto-Play”, started the client up again, auto-play was still ticked and lo and behold it went from 50% to 100% in a few seconds and now I’m finally online playing.

I’ve got the same issue. I’m not playing regularly so I just noticed it last night, still can’t get on this morning.

I hope they fix it, because this will stop me from coming back and playing regularly.

So far I’m surprised I was curious enough to come to the forums to see if others were having the same problem, I don’t think I’ll be trying too many times more.

I have this problem too.

The only difference is I’m not as dedicated to fixing it as you are. I have done the standard, reset my pc, try starting up gw2 over and over again, leaving it running in the background as I surf the web etc.

If it doesn’t fix itself, I just wont play.

It’s a pitty you’ve had those responses from Anet. That’s the problem, people who do want to still play get frustrated and annoyed, while others like myself who are on the verge of not playing, give up and actually stop playing.

wow, this thread reminds me why I try to avoid reading game forums of what games I’m playing.

This thread has ONLY 74 replies and many of the replies state like it’s true fact “Everyone is upset about this issue…” really?? Do you have facts and figures, a signed petition to state that out of all players 90% of them are unhappy with this choice? Does anyone here (not including staff) even know for a FACT how many people play this game to make those claims? …

and also what with the: “why can’t we have an immediate response from official Anet staff because I’m upset!???” So demanding some of you.

I have no issue with this pick and I have bought one. I’ve googled what I can use my watchwork sprokets on and aren’t really thrilled, but I don’t have buyers remorse, I figure they’ll come in handy some time and that’s good enough for me. And I’m an adult, I I choose to spend my money where I feel like it, just like everyone else.

I don’t feel upset.

Thought I’d put my 2c in, because usually when we are fine with something we never say anything, but when we’re upset we speak up.

I feel more inclined that I’m a consumer, I can hold out for improved products or buy a product right now with what features the product currently has. If later a more improved version comes out, I don’t believe it’s my given right as a consumer to expect a free upgrade. Some products this is just not even possible, clothing, food, electronic equipment, it even happens with software/digital downloads. I own Microsoft Office 2007 and when 2010 came out no one upgraded me to 2010 for free, and I didn’t expect it.

Glad I finally found an Anet response, I was getting worried myself, and as you do sometimes, because it didn’t work, I tried again and purchased more gems, lol. Hope this is fixed soon.

In relation to the phishing alert, when you first click on “Support” on the GW2 official site, the screen you get sent to is a search option to try to find your solution first and right under the search bar there is some info titled “Phishing”. Don’t leave this screen, you’ll see top right corner, “Submit a request”, that’s where you want to go Aragon.

The marionette event is not that difficult. I honestly can’t fathom how people are failing it so consistently.

They are failing due to taking a lot of damage and dying. I mean, really, is this hard to figure out?

The main culprit is boss #3. I routinely am on servers where the first two bosses are taken down in order, and then boss #3 is failed over and over until the event wipes.

That means there is a problem with this fight. Period. I don’t care how many snobs pontificate about how “it’s easy if you just do _” or “lol, just don’t do _”. People are failing it all the time except if they end up in an instance where there’s some very large organized guild or something. And that’s NOT what I thought this game was supposed to be about.

I’m not a moron and I routinely get downed in that fight. So do many other people. All you need is for one platform to get enough people downed that they can’t get back up, and the chain wipes.

And it happens over and over again. So I guess Arenanet wants people to be frustrated and kittened off most of the time, because 90+% of the people I know are stuck in failed instances over 3/4 of the time and it’s frustrating and kittening them off.

I also agree with this assessment. I’m losing interest in continuing with this event because players aren’t morons, they’re moving around and dodging.

I have also seen no further then round 3 and it’s very unforgiving. I finally load on platform, see red all over the floor, dodge, still hits me anyway, and I’m downed, there’s no time for anyone to rez, because the floors covered again and I’m dead.
