These replies are very interesting, this class is in a very different spot from rangers. It sounds like I should be switching weapons and utilities often throughout a run, am I getting that right? S/P for trash, D/D for bosses/big targets, SB for explosive finishers/safety? And then the utilities also switch accordingly?
You should be doing that with any class, changing to whatever fits the situation.
Maybe so, ranger didn’t feel very flexible though. Nothing comes close to Sword for DPS of any target, and nothing comes close to WH for utility. The second set was just kind of whatever you wanted.

So with the new patch, I decided to give thief a shot, and since a lot changed with the patch, I don’t know what resources are still up to date with the changes, so I’m just going to ask here.
I come from playing a ranger where there was really only one way to pick your weapons. Sword/Warhorn, Spotter, Frost Spirit, etc. So the questions come down to:
-Do thieves have a massively min/maxed build that’s the same way, or do I have a number of comparable options?
-What weapons are best for fighting in the stack?
-What utility should I be bringing every time?
Okay, thanks. Me accidentally leaping out of the stack or not being able to dodge in time and dying seems like a bigger drawback than the DPS loss of the sword, so I’ll take it.
I wouldn’t give up on having WH on a second set. That 5 is way too good as you said.
Does anyone know what the best alternative to 1h sword is? I know it’s not optimal to switch from it, I’m just kitten at using it and was wondering what I can use in its stead before I get used to it.
How close to your target were you? It’s a point blank AoE, not a targeted one.
I know for the most part Berserker’s and the 2/2/2 rune spread is the way to go, but in the meantime of getting my zerker gear, is there any build that works nicely with Rampager’s? I have a kitten ton of AC tokens that I can use to kit myself out in it. Traps seem like they would sync with it nicely, but I thought I’d see what you guys think.
Oh, and PVE is the focus here.
