Soulbound on acquire is not a warning that you cant do anything with it after you purchase it. Everything you equip becomes soulbound. Players have no idea what they are buying until they simply cant do anything but destroy the item and/or have to go out of game to hunt down what should be right there on the item or merchants screen. This should apply to anything /everything that cant be salvagable or sold either to a merchant or on the TP.
Just also discovered there are things you can buy with just gold/silver/copper. No karma at all and it also can not be sold or salvaged? Seraph Supplier in Wallwatcher Camp for example.
I normally don’t bother to buy the stuff merchants outside of towns have for sale. This seriously needs to be addressed by anet and if its always been this way for shame. Literally just taking peoples hard work and flushing it down the toilet.
There is no good reason why people are not being informed when they are making a 1 way purchase.
As far as I can tell Sven, in the Molnsk tunnels, Has had a gather mission pretty much since launch that has never/almost never physically worked. I’m an altaholic so I come through this area fairly regularly and again I can not remember a time when his mission functioned in part or at all.
Put a warning IN GAME that karma items can not be salvaged or sold. Either in the merchants chat box and/or at least on the item itself.
I’m a casual player and hardly check the website or bother to read the updates and I figure a lot of the players are the same way or we don’t play for long periods of time and come back to find things out the hard way like I just did.
Linen prices are a bit through the roof currently. So i figured I’d use my otherwise useless pool of karma points to go salvage me some scrap to use in my crafting cause buying it sure isn’t an option right now.
But low and behold you can’t salvage or even sell karma stuff anymore. I don’t believe I ever tried befor this date and time so I was fully unaware and wasted about 15k worth of karma points and then had to manually delete like 30 items.
It’s nice they are focusing so well on new content but really, Between this over sight and not being able to filter by light/medium/heavy on the TP it really is feeling more and more like neglect for things that should be in their Quality of Life updates…

I have waited for this to be added since release figuring it was an oversight but beginign to see it as neglect. Why do we not have the ability to sort by usable or /light/medium/heavy/? I agree with op this shouldn’t be that difficult and would save your users alot of time. Endlessly sifting through the stuff figuring out what you can use and what you cant is frustraiting at best.
I would also like to be able to search for specific stats/type
This is needed for quality of life. And has been needed since launch!
I dont post much but this has fairly well ruined all my grouping experiances in both PvE and PvP. I dont PvP a whole lot but I cant manage it any way when I cant see the people obliterating me. There, on average, isnt even that much going on and npcs are invisible until they are dead in cursed shores groups (3-5 am central time) of maybe 6 to 10 people. My computer stats are pretty good so I dont understand why this “culling” even exsists and why this is the first game ive ever had any problems like this.
Never happened to me in GW1. Doesnt happen to me in games like DCUO and a lot of the time theres 200 or more randomly outfitted and colored characters on my screen all moving doing various animations and my computer doesnt have a bit of problem. I mean seriously why isnt there an option in the graphic settings to let me decide how many models I want to beable to load at a time like in almost every other pc game?
