Ottilia is sounding more & more suspicious to me.
Here’s my speculation..SPOILERS AHEAD:
First: WE go help Braham take Cragstead back from the Molten Alliance.At the end of the mission we learned they have taken the townsfolk as prisoners.Along with a girl Norn named Ottilia.We also learn that Braham likes her.
Then we help Braham & Rox defeat the Molten Alliance at the Facility base/dungeon.During this mission,we help rescue Charr & Norn prisoners while defeating enemies and finding the exit.At some point while rescuing 10 prisoners;
Braham talks to one of them.He asks about Ottilia.The prisoner says something along the lines of..“I don’t want to talk about it/You don’t need to know right now.” I do not know the exact line of dialogue,so anyone please feel free to correct me.
Why can’t he tell him what’s going on with Ottilia? It’s obviously bad news since he doesn’t want talk about it.So what happened.Is she hurt? Did she die? Why don’t you want to talk about her situation? Is the information/news THAT bad?
And for me,this is where it gets suspicious.It raises alot of questions.If Ottilia was taken,how come she is not here with the rest of the prisoners? How come we couldn’t find/encounter her in the dungeon at all? If that’s the case,was she in a different base? Was she already rescued by someone else? Was she in danger to begin with?
So a few days(game updates) later: After defeating the double boss & blowing the Facility up; we get 3 different Bonfire celebrations across the map.If you go to Hoelbrak’s Bonfire you will get to speak with Braham again.When you speak with Braham & ask about Ottilia,Braham says a Refugee coordinator told him she is somewhere in Hoelbrak.He then says he will find her so they can return home to Cragstead.
This brings up more suspicion and questions.How did she escape? Who rescued her?(sure as heck wasn’t us) If she is in Hoelbrak,why can’t Braham find her? Why can’t she find him? Everyone in town is talking about Braham & the events with the Molten Alliance’s defeat.If she is looking for him,I’m very sure they can point her to the celebration with Braham standing right next to the giant bright Bonfire.He’s not hard to find.
Maybe Ottilia couldn’t seek out Braham because she is injured/resting in Hoelbrak? If THIS is the case;why couldn’t she just tell the Refugee Coordinator her location so her friends/family can find her? It’s like she does not want to be found.
I know I’m thinking way too much into this.But it’s fun.Can’t wait to see the plot unfold in the upcoming months.
