Just want to take this opportunity to thank our coach Silven/Jax, and all of my teammates. This has been a really fun experience, and I think we’re all better players after winning this tournament, I had a great time playing and learning with you guys! Also, thanks for all the support on the forums and twitch chat, it meant a lot knowing we had some fellow guards rooting for us

I’m the burst guard. And this is happening shortly so get hype!

So does anyone want to practice again today? I’ll try to log on an hour beforehand (7:30 EST, 4:30 PST), in the same vent server

If there’s still room, I’d love to play in this tournament. IGN is Brave Shikari, r40, available Thursday and Saturday. I have a feeling the guardian team will be more bunker and less burst, but i’ve been playing a roaming burst build for a while, which should help if everyone else is running a more typical bunker build.
p.s. I’d be happy to get some practice with Team Silven’s Guardians before the tournament

This video is a quick demonstration of the powerful burst damage a meditation guardian can do. I have nicknamed my favorite burst combo “The Brave Burst”, named after my guardian, Brave Shikari. This skill combination has secured me many kills when roaming tpvp (ranked matches) with this build
Focus 5 -> Scepter 2 -> Torch 4 (first activation) -> Judge’s Intervention & Torch 4 (again) at the same time.
You want to time it so you teleport and burn your foe (to activate the +10% to burning foes trait) at the same time as Focus 5 exploding and finishing the Torch 4 cast.
Another tip is using scepter 3 to immobilize, which helps ensure all of your sword 3 attacks hit, as actual enemies (not target dummies) can easily move out of the way.

What they need to do is to remove the whole Tournament thing completely. Not to make it more complicated.
The whole idea of requiring 8 teams 40ppl together to even begin playing is pathetic. It creates a totally unnecessary barrier for people to even think about playing it. Adding another “Paid” barrier there made it worse. Adding more complicated rules will make it even worse. Just get rid of it altogether and make something that is simple and straightforward to play with.
While I agree it seems silly to wait for 40 people just to have one match, this is still a great short-term fix before they can come up with a better system, matchmaking etc.
This would absolutely have me playing more paids, regardless of the gem/ticket rewards, as I would actually be able to play ALL THREE MAPS. I can’t believe that they haven’t even switched the order the maps at this point, it’s like they WANT people to get bored with the pvp by playing 80% of their matches on Forest. People need to play on all the maps because they offer different tactics, and favor different team comps/playstyles. With the current system, you have pugs/inexperienced teams never getting a chance to play a close, competitive match on Khylo. It just doesn’t happen. If they do happen to finally reach round 3 after hours of practicing, now they are in unfamiliar territory, because they have only played Khylo in frees (where they presumably stomp the other team and collect their tickets for paid), or lolgloryfarmzerg hotjoin. You never get a chance to learn and practice with treb mechanics in a more competitive setting, so once again the more experienced teams end up dominating because they understand the treb and map mechanics in a paid tourny setting.
+1 Sataar, thx for putting forth the effort and this great idea.
Everyone else, keep showing your support, let Anet know about this awesome (and easy to implement) idea.

Right now it is frustrating that the only way to tell that sigil of rage has proc’d is by looking down at the ui and seeing the quickness buff. This makes it hard to notice sometimes and can lead to a wasted 45 seconds with no sigil effects. Not only that, it is valuable information to know in a pvp environment if your enemy just got quickness from a sigil proc, and not some other source like Last Chance or Zephyr’s Speed
I think a great change would be if the symbol of the sigil appeared above the character, much like activating a signet. Although people often complain about lots of particle effects on the screen, so maybe something smaller or more subtle would be better.

Longbow could use better traits, and one to reduce cooldowns
in Warrior

As it stands, the traits that affect the longbow directly are Burning Arrows and Stronger Bowstrings. Both are lackluster, and both are in the Tactics line, which doesn’t make sense to me. A burning-focused weapon needs condition dmg or duration, not vitality or boon duration. Also, neither of them reduces the cooldown of longbow weapon skills. It really just seems like an oversight to me, as I know that many traits for all professions that only affected a certain weapon in the beta weekends were buffed to also reduce the cooldowns of that weapon (such as Forceful Greatsword, Merciless Hammer, Duelist’s Discipline, etc)
While on the topic of Longbow skills, I believe the tooltip for Arcing Arrow is bugged in-game, as it currently lists a burning effect, which does not happen when I use the skill.
Hopefully if the Longbow traits get looked at, you may actually see a Longbow Warrior in spvp!
