Hardware Issues Detected

Upon the September patch, when running GW2 on my Mac Pro (OSX 10.9.4 Mavericks), it comes up and says Hardware Issues Detected, and when I click on the details it says that my computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, and shows that I only have 2GB of RAM. This Mac Pro actually has 64 GB of RAM in it. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a way to fix it? Can it cause any issues? (My game seems to lag a bit, when moving the camera around, etc), was thinking maybe that if it thought I only had 2GB of RAM, then that would be all that it would try to use. Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Re-installing client in Mavericks fails...

This is the same problem I have, didn’t do a clean install of mavericks, I just uninstalled GW2 and removed the GW2 application folder. It just sits there, looking at activity monitor, it doesn’t appear to be doing anything. I kept a backup of my GW2 application folder and once I copy that back, then it comes up just fine. Problem is, if your having issues with crashing, removing the GW2 application folder is one of the steps for resolving issues.

Client does not appear.

Hi,

I’m running GW2 on my Mac Pro, and noticing that it’s crashing a lot more often now. Whenever I go to delete the Guild Wars 2 folder in Library/Application Support, then when I go to start GW2, the client never comes up. I’ve also tried uninstalling and reinstalling GW2, but have the same problem. Even if I run the GWII-Update-009524 to patch it first, it still will not come up. If I move the original folder back into Application Support, then it comes up just fine.

Is anyone else having this issue? What’s the fix? If you need any more information, I can post that.

Thanks,

TgUpdate 1.11 everytime i open the launcher

I understand that it’s easy to get upset when there is a problem, however I’m sure that there are people working to resolve it. We have to stop and think that they are not doing it intentionally, it’s just that stuff happens, and we need to learn to be patient, and to provide them with as much information as possible in order to fix the issue. We are lucky to have a Mac client, being that the majority of gamers are on Windows or Xbox or PS4. Luckily ArenaNet chose to support Mac rather than a console. I know that the Mac client is through transgaming (cider) and is a wrapper around the windows client, it’s not exactly the best, but it has been working for most and allows us Mac users to play a GW2 (the most excellent game out). However, we also have to consider that we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes…perhaps the cider client was just to allow us Mac users to play right away, and they may have people coding a proper Mac version. We just don’t know as of yet. It’s also critical to be aware that every company has it’s issues, including Blizzard, they have their fair share of issue, not to mention their “cookie cutter” games that draw people in, but don’t exactly have good gameplay or content within them. Blizzard has grown beyond it’s own scope and their quality has really come down to a point of awful.

Just be patient, provide any information that’s requested, and I’m sure we’ll have a fix at some point. And who knows what the future will bring.

I’ve run into this, and it’s been happening a lot more lately with these latest patches, what I found to fix the problem is to ALT – TAB out of GW2 then back in, that usually does it. The other thing is that Magic Prefs (if you are using it) can cause some issues, if you ALT-TAB out of GW2, then disable Magic Prefs, then re-enable it, that cures the problem.

No luck here either. I have a Mac Pro (2010) and a Mac Mini, not working on either of them. Both are running Mavericks.

I also noticed that every time I start GW2, it runs the updater 1.11, where as that was not happening before, when things were working.

This is happening on mine as well. I decided to uninstall and reinstall in hopes that I’d be able to buy gems, and now it’s downloading the tgupdate each time.
