EotM saved the game for me. Tier 8, bottom of the servers, Kaineng. It’s nice to see what it’s like to have even numbers for once.
Yes, this has been happening since the last patch for me too. Very annoying, sometimes it doesn’t show the panel with the lords health bar or time to cap a tower, which sucks when you are trying to rush in to save it from cap.
So…is this tied to server vs server? Or do we que go in and it’s just split up randomly. As it stands right now Kaineng can barely field enough players to defend our own Borderland, let alone go in the EOTM, does anyone have any info on that?
One of my best memories in an MMO was the crazy messed up implementation of GVG in SWG. SOOO much fun, although really badly put together. I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with this, your PVE guilds obviously wouldn’t partake, and many will make guilds strictly for this purpose. Add a timer to switching guilds when at war with another guild. Both guilds have to accept the war of course. Hardly see how this would become a problem. GVG will have tons of griefing yes, but who cares? Don’t join a “war” guild if you don’t want to participate.
More game modes, more rewards. I’d even be happy with cosmetic stuff/skins you could use outside of Spvp, unique ones only available by playing Spvp would be great, giving incentive for more people to try it out.
My biggest problem with Spvp is that it’s rare to have a full match that isn’t lopsided. I can handle losing, but many can’t. Also, get rid of Skyhammer.
Biggest problem for me, is all the stealth available while in combat. Most mmo’s the assassin types get 1 free getaway depending on a spec. The initial backstab damage is kitten near enough to prove that more stealth in combat is OP. Utilities and heals, I can understand, thats a couple stealth options there, but adding them to weapon skills where all you need is enough initiative to use them, a bit too much, not to mention combo fields.
I got stuck on Kaineng also long ago, to avoid WvW ques during the first weeks. I don’t pve at all though, just WvW, and it isn’t as bad as you say it is. We do have some time slots that are barren but most of the time we can field 20-40 or even more,at least in EB. I had thought about transferring also, but eh, I kind of like the smaller skirmishes, I started on JQ, I’ll never go back to that zergfest. I don’t see the gem cost as a big deal, if you enjoy the game enough, it’s worth the cost for transfer. 20 bucks isn’t a whole lot of money.
My first and only class is a Mesmer, 80 of course, in full exotics(except for aquahelm). I absolutely destroy in WvW and PVE. Before, and after the patch. I eat warriors alive. Thieves can be rough, but I still haven’t lost to one in any 1v1 situation regardless of their cheesy tactics. In PVE, I get TONS of loot no matter what event I’m in, because I know this class like the back of my hand. I’m not really sure what all the whining is about, we are probably the most underrated and overpowered class in the game when played right. Don’t even get me started on underwater combat, I regularly will take on 2-3 decked out players with no problems at all, unless they have a mesmer with them.
Yes all of us on Kaineng have probably seen it to a higher degree. In the higher level zones they are everywhere, I mean to the point where you can’t tell who’s a bot and who isn’t anymore, and in WvW, they go to winning server and camp in the lake or at the skritt camp in stacks of 20-30 at a time. I made a post about it but it got locked telling me to go look at a post made about their situation with botting.
Yeah I kind of figured it’s been going on for awhile, but my group doesn’t run those routes ever until last night. Was pretty amazed to say the least.
I’m on Kaineng, vs. Ferg’s Crossing and Devona’s Rest at the moment. We have a major botting problem in WvW, not really sure if other servers are experiencing the same thing, but man, as of 30 minutes ago their had to of been 40-50 bots running around the northwestern skritt camp. All dead now, but, returning I’m sure. The same goes for the lake, stacks of bots no less than 20-30 killing kraits in the lake. Not complaining too much because it’s free kills, just wondering if this is common amongst other servers?
They are all Ferg’s Crossing bots(which I’d imagine they chose because Kaineng and Devona’s has a small WvW population and Ferg’s is destroying us in points).
I think the prices need to be lowered just a tad, as a player who practically lives in WvW, I only have about 1000 badges, if I added it correctly, it costs 1889 badges just for the 6 pieces of armor. 1980 badges for ammy, 2 rings, 2 accessories. Weapon wise, if you go with 1 2h weapon, and a weapon and offhand, that’s 924 badges, a grand total of ….
4793 badges for full set of armor, all jewelry and a 2hwep and 1h/offhand.
You do realize that you can buy siege with badges of honor, right? A lot of us don’t use the w3 gear because the stats don’t go with our builds, so what else is there to spend them on? Siege, and LOTS of it. I’ve acquired over 1000 badges and have never spent a dime on gems, or paid for siege with silver/gold. The w3 gear just doesn’t fit my build, and it looks ugly too. Make sure you pick up your bags!
These Kaineng folk are speaking the truth, when we were matched up against them, it would be amazing to even see 2 guys from their side in any of the borderlands. I find it hard to believe that you would let some of these servers endure 4-5 hour que times while servers like Kaineng can’t even field enough players to take down a tower. I’m all for being the underdog, but this is a bit out of hand. I thought Ferguson’s Crossing was bad, until we were matched up with Kaineng.
