What I am saying is that many people came in here thinking this will be like WoW, so they expected the content to be the same or very similar. GW1 was so far from WoW it was like comparing apples to bricks. Point is, whatever your expectations (gold, dungeon difficulty, etc.) you can no longer think in WoW terms.
WoW fans are free to enjoy WoW, never said you couldn’t, but the contrast between both is prevalent in almost every aspect of the game. The very idea of original builds is a concept that Bliz. has never even considered, nor would even take the time to consider, “regardless” of the thousands upon thousands of requests to do as such!
(rinse repeat).
Didn’t mean to upset WoWites, but you must understand in every way, that this “Is Not” Wow, so it’s “you” guys that must stop doing the compassing when it comes to content or how it is played.
People who have played both know when you are making a comment requesting it be similar to WoW without even saying that is where your comparative is coming from. (Where’s the mounts, etc.)
I will say it one more time in case you didn’t understand, “This is not WoW, understand”?
Just on a personal end note I would like to say, GuildWars 1 was far better than WoW ever was for me, and now we arrive at GuildWars 2. I can’t wait until the next expansions to rock the very foundations of WoW. People who have never played GW 1 have absolutely no idea what you are in for and what ANet is capable of!
Mark my words, stick around, you won’t be sorry!

Reading some posts and laughing to myself because I realize that lots of new players who have never played GW1 rant about how very different this game is from WoW.
Well duh, took you long enough to figure that out.
In response to this much visited topic I will say this; You’re right, this is not like WoW, in “any” way. The content is different, the skills are different, the game play is different, the options are different, the fights are different (not just your simple rinse repeat), rewards are different, in fact (and I hope your paying attention to this next part), the rate in which they reply with fixes is so much higher than what Blizzard does it will make you go “huh, what”! How do I know this? Simple. I played both Guild Wars 1 and WoW for over 2 years each, and I know the differences between the companies.
What can you expect you might ask? Well, in the end, this game will have more content, more rewards, more explorable area, more flexibility to preferred fighting styles, etc., specially when the new content on expansions are released!
Things like Festivals, are more numerous. Not to mention the content that hasn’t even been fully activated yet in the first release (Hall of Monuments), shows promise of content the likes of what WoW players are not used to.
Let me say that AN know how to please. They even apply new content upon requested idea from it’s players, (something Blizzard never does) when they release expansions, so keep posting ideas!
You must understand in closing that Blizzard are not the only ones who know how to make an MMO work and WoW is not the only way to make one!
No it’s not perfect (yet), but rest assured, AN, will fix issues, add new content, and know the meaning of “balance” (something utterly alien to Blizzard).
If I remember reading correctly, Blizzard had issues for over a year and thousands upon thousands of complaints before they hammered out WoW (and Diablo3 is still fubar’d). GW2 has been out 3 weeks. So chill, and worry not. Stick around and discover how the Masters create a truly epic game!
