It’s not a bug. It’s a deliberate design decision to prevent clipping. You don’t want to see long flowing locks growing out of your helmet’s back plate.

That said, I would absolutely love to see this improved on. I love the asura t3 light headpiece, but his hair goes away and he becomes bald, which is even worse than a lot of the other examples because the top of his head is exposed. And his ears disappear completely whenever he puts on a hood!

However, fixing this completely would take a lot of work. They’d have to account for every hair style in combination with every headpiece. That’s probably thousands of combinations.

Again, because there seems to be some misunderstanding here (this is like the third post about the wrong issue):

This is NOT about hair in general (as in, from the top/back of your head). This is about FACIAL hair. Indeed, most MMOs remove hair when your character puts on a helment, in order not to have it clip through like crazy. This is normal, expected, has been in the game since the beginning, and will never go away. We understand that.

This is about FACIAL hair with a VERY specific (and recently added) item in the game. There is no reason at all why this particular helmet should remove facial hair when most other headgear pieces do not. In particular, this helmet has an open chin, so it would clip facial hair minimally, if at all. It’s pretty obvious that this is not the intended behaviour, and that the “remove facial hair” flag was probably (and mistakenly) left in.

He told you you were wrong (which you are, as this game IS NOT FREE TO PLAY; look up the definition), and you reply by saying that he must be lonely and not have many friends? Priceless.

Adding my vote as well. As of now, you have to choose between Mumble overlay or being able to use the trading post, which doesn’t seem acceptable. What I’m most unhappy with is that we haven’t heard a thing about this issue being addressed or not in well over five months, ever since it started happening.

All of the problems listed above seem to have the same source; starting with -autologin -password command lines produce all of those results 100% of the time. There’s an additional issue, not reported, that has started happening recently, and is also linked with the command line switches: when trying to buy an item, it will say that no matching listings were found, and ask to refresh (which obviously doesn’t solve the issue, as the listing is indeed there).

Please, we need some communication here.
