Oh nooooo, I wont be able to progress to the deepest parts of the optional dungeon without the new armor which is only useful for this dungeon…. This game sucks omg you are tearing me apart Anet.

Its like all logic goes out the window when people come onto these forums.

Yeah, I remember reading that exact same argument — pretty much word for word — when Radiance was introduced to LotRO.

A few months later, Turbine was on its knees, praying for our forgiveness.

A while after that, their game went Free-2-Play.

These days, even though Radiance is long gone, it’s still on life support.

Guess people aren’t so quick to forgive and forget. I sure as hell never gave them a second chance. Fool me once…

It’s pretty much mandatory these days. “LFM spam” is — or should be — a thing of the past.

I haven’t tried a single GW2 dungeon (other than the Mad King), simply because there’s no proper LFG system.

Apparently, everyone here has forgotten about LotRO. The former “ultimate casual-friendly” MMO — with one of the best communities around — which got DESTROYED, by this little addition, called “Dread.”

In effect, that’s what this is. Our very own version of “Dread.”

What it will do, just like it did in LotRO, is polarize the community.
Casual guilds will splinter, people will be locked out of — apparently fun and challenging — content (and leave), crafting will cease to be worthwhile, elitism will grow where collaboration used to be and the game will slowly, but surely, wither away.
A shadow of its former self. A Shadow of Angmar.

Power creep is bad and it has no place here. This single change will effectively destroy the excitement of WvWvW.

The play field will now be stacked for those who actually enjoy — and have time for — “the grind.”
Because, as I’ve learned from playing Online ARPGs: every stat point — no matter how insignificant it may seem — matters! It’s the difference between running away with 1 HP or dying to that annoying DoT. If it exists, you HAVE to have it or you’ll never truly enjoy yourself.

I, for one, am still waiting for them to introduce a proper LFG system — could be similar to WoW’s, could be better, but I’ll take whatever at this point — before even beginning to run dungeons!

If I have to go through hours upon hours of “LFM shouting” in Lion’s Arch just to get there… I’m out. Seriously, I love the game, but I just can’t take it anymore. I’m sorry.

Am I right to condemn 5 Singet Warriors?

You have to understand that a lot of gamers are elitist, self-entitled… kittens.

The people kicking you from groups for having a signet build are the same people who “troll” you for picking an AD carry other than Ezreal or Corki in League of Legends or scream at you for buying a P90 in Counter-Strike.

You either do/pick what they see as “optimal” — and with these people, this word is ever-present — or you’re in for a very unpleasant time.

At the end of the day, it’s your choice. This is a role-playing game and these are your characters. Play what you enjoy and give it your best.

I happen to run a Rifle/Axe+Warhorn warrior. It’s far from optimal, I can tell you that right now, but since I have shouts I normally don’t get yelled at.
My best friend plays a signet-based Greatsword/Rifle warrior and, sadly, has to endure some harassment.

I don’t even see anything inherently wrong with his build — he has ways to remove conditions, grant himself stability, keep boons up, a heal on a relatively short cooldown, debuffs, some basic CC… — pretty much all the things that I have, with a single difference: my “buffs” affect others (but, as a trade-off, I deal less damage).

Apparently that’s too much for some people to endure…

Healing Shouts build Q's

To be honest, I decided to make a warrior because I wanted something that was similar to the “support” type of characters that I was used to playing in MOBAs.

In other words, something that could buff, debuff, crowd-control, “peel” and heal, as needed.

I ended up going with an Axe+Warhorn/Rifle – 0/0/30/30/10 “shout-based build” and, so far, I’m loving it.
I’m not an healer. I don’t use my shouts strictly as heals. I use them when they are needed (to remove conditions, CC enemies and to buff allies), the healing component is just a bonus. Just one more way to increase their effective HP, ever so slightly.

The strength of the build comes from its utility. You can invest in healing to improve that utility even further — becoming more of a “pure support” — or you can branch out, invest on some offensive stats and add to the group’s damage output.

Either way, you’ll be a valuable asset, imo.
