Something else to remember as well……content has been put out every 2 weeks or so for a while. Content takes time……the more time taken, the better the content will be. It brings up an interesting choice, do we want more, or do we want better? With all of the layoffs happening industry-wide, putting more people on it is not really an option any more.
There is no sub fee. All of the cash shop items are optional, no buy-to-win here. And we still have the most beautiful world of any MMO, with new content coming at a steady pace. Admittedly some content is better, but better or worse, it is there.

To comment on the initial question……I think the community is fine. Some of the best in any MMO I have played, and I play a lot .

Sorry…..next time I’ll complain more

As a general rule, if a game is going well for a person, they play it and go on about their way. Forums are notorious, in this game and all others, for bringing out the complainers. Some have valid points, some don’t, but everyone thinks that theirs are the ones that are. Developers have learned through the trials and errors of doing this which ones are the people who have meaningful comments or suggestions to help improve the game, and which ones are there to cry and moan that the game is sub-par to THEIR expectations, which a lot of time isn’t the feeling of the masses in general. The criers and complainers get put into one bin, the helpers another. It isn’t hard to tell who falls into which……just read the posts.

I also was able to complete it on my 1st try. My only real gripe about it is that it isn’t long enough. The mechanics didn’t bother me….at least A-net is trying something different. I haven’t run the multiplayer version of it yet…..is it also just one boss, or is it like the others?

Yes and yes…….the farming I’m doing is along that shoreline and out into the water some….to no avail

I have farmed practically every day, and run the event zerg that is going on, and have yet to see one chest drop. None….zilch…..nada…..zero….nary-a-one…..negative…….

I have enjoyed the Southsun stuff a lot, and the surprising thing that has been the most fun is the farming pack that goes from event to event in a arranged trail. This is probably the closest thing we’ll see to a 25 man raid in this game, and if ya think about it, it is pretty similar. Everyone moves from boss to boss together, and if ya go down, someone is always right there to get ya back on your feet. Yesterday I fell into the pack and before I realized it, 2 hours had passed. Good stuff, A-net! Maybe with a few changes here and there, something like this can be designed into a raid format.

New Guy Bumping up

Casual mature guy looking for a guild to run a dungeon or two with after I get home from work at 6 or 7 central. Not into PvP. By the way, 80 mesmer with almost all exotics….(still need 2 rings)

All I can say is that I am glad that the non-dungeon people seem to be a distinct minority. If you want a game that you play by yourself, then by definition an MMO is not for you. Play a single-player game like the Witcher or something. I hope they have a dungeon in this storyline and all of the others….the more the merrier.

I also have a male Norn mesmer, and I find that the Bear transformation is a good OS button if you are using sw/p. If ya start getting too squishy, fire up your phantasms and turn into a friggin’ bear. Your health doubles and you do good damage.
