I don’t agree that the winners of an imbalanced seven day match are just as victimized as the losing sides. People are saying they are bored as well on the winning side but you have the added benefit of ‘winning’. In addition to stat and health bonuses making ganking and repelling any attempts by the losers much easier, the winners are experiencing the benefits of self validation which is a huge boon psychologically whether you are ‘bored’ or not.
Also, the winning server get the boon of gaining more players. Yak’s Bend server wasn’t full two days ago and now it is. I’m betting a lot of solo players left Darkhaven and Anvil rock for Yak’s. I think the Yak’s, Anvil, Darkhaven triad was an honest mistake.
Ya know, I just can’t feel for you on the winning server when you consistently, 24/7, camp the losers spawn camps with siege and never let anyone out to do anything. If you want a challenge, back the hell off from the spawn camps and take us on out in the field. As long as you camp spawns, you deserve to have nobody to fight, and long periods of boredom. You make this one yourself.
i like lettuce
“The only practical application of playing after losing badly after day 1 would be to get the bonuses for your realm, and then go back to PVEing.”
or maybe play for fun….take a keep and hold it as long as possible?
get a group of 10 and blitzkrieg supply camps?
plenty to do, people just get mad bro! and give up too easy, part of the gimme generation
I’m with you on this one. Yeah they could change the buff a little, but then it would become abused in some manner and that’s not good either. Besides, nothing wrong with lettuce!
Sometimes the best thing to do is small teams in gorilla warfare, hit them all over the place, keep them mobile while you build up. Zerg only works against zerg….and the unfortunate few who get run over as the drive by. If you hit them on multiple fronts with multiple small teams you force them to either break the zerg or accept the loss of something until they can get to it. And that, is where winning comes from. You have to start someplace.
Giving up and leaving just contributes to the problem in the first place. Grow a pair, take charge, get a team or two rolling, and get out there and try something. You might just be surprised what works.
The funny part of your video, is the other server not to go down in ranking is on your match-up, and it’s my server, Devona’s Rest. And yeah, we have the same queue times 24 hours a day.
At least I can go into any borderland or EB at any time and farm all the mobs or resource nodes I want. Well that’s up until the zerg finds me, at least that experience lasts about the same amount of time as the queue. 50 vs 1 isn’t much of a fight.
I never will understand why they feel it fun to camp the spawn camps though….go jumpy puzzle or kill a grub or something! Do you really think our 7 guys are gonna charge your 35?!?!
The truth of this all is this, the best WvW servers WILL have crews that enter on a 24 hours basis. Now that being said, if the server you are on is a very low pop server, well you can expect little to no real productive WvW out of the prime window for your server. But that is exactly why they are suggesting people move around now and balance the populations out. We have had several guilds (in full) move from the 5hr queue time servers to ours over the past 2 weeks. We went from a 2 hour survival time after reset, to giving a fight for it now during prime time. Our off hours is still week, something I hope changes with more transfers.
I came from years of DAoC, and while I was there I was on the night crew. Without us the field got screwed up and never had a chance to balance out again. When one faction made big moves during the day, it was the night crew that shifted things back. It will eventually be the same here. The key isn’t to shut the off hours down, it’s to build your servers off shift crew. Promote it, motivate those that are on the off shift, invite them to your WvW guilds, bring them in on your plans. Shutting them down or leaving them out just helps make your server a loser in WvW.
Winning in WvWvW isn’t just about what YOU do when YOU are on, its about what your SERVER does as a whole during the time you are there, and when you are not.
