Currently, you cannot join cross server for party members, which is a pain. It would be nice if some allowances were made to let parties (<5) members in together, but with restrictions to prevent abuse. Examples would be only one server can be played on with a party per (time), account limited, or the option to join as a guild for while a WvW Guild missions is active, with a similar limitation. Unfortunately, that might require the entire restructuring of the WvW assignment system.
Easiest bet would be a server transfer, since even guesting doesn’t let you play on WvW… though allowing guests to WvW with hosts with similar restrictions might work as well…
This was actually the one that seemed to be the most recently active. That’s why I posted to it, though I could have dug a little deeper. Mais, C’est la vie.
I really must admit, I had this exact same Idea earlier today. I’ve been biting at the bit for the last few months, dreading every moment that I knew I’d have to go to the WvW maps to get my completion. I get there, my frame rate drops almost immediately, I get mobbed the moment I approach any type of PoI/vista/skill point that isn’t directly inside my team’s forts.
I found that I positively abhorred heading towards something, get killed, only to have to go back to the most inconveniently placed waypoint and try again. Rinse, lather, repeat. I finally gave up and went to play some TF2.
So, removing the WvW map requirement would make me so happy. Or fixing it to where it doesn’t feel like I’m getting a root canal without any anesthesia like making it “PvE-able” for those who don’t wish for that pain.
Here’s to hoping this picks up some steam. I really just don’t want to ever go back to WvW.
