With the new implementation of a separate map for the EB Jumping Puzzle, some mates and I were thinking about how being able to make new maps that add on to WvW, could make the game even more fun that it already is.
What we were thinking about (this may not even be possible), but if there could be a map, like a large open area where everyone was hostile to everyone else and the only way that you could avoid being hit by each someone else’s ablities is to be in a party with them. This would mean that you could have 5v5 matches with other guilds, groups within your guild, or even team up with people from other servers to make a team.
We’ve all got people on our servers that we’d love to take down a few pegs. This would be the perfect way to do it. Having the group size limited at 5 players would mean that it would be anti zerg.
Before you say “you can do this in Spvp”, I’m aware that you can. However, having this in a WvW map means more build diversity due to some builds that are great in wvw not being viable in sPvp.
What does everyone think?

You can get a full set of Rabid jewellery including the back piece from one of the Orr temples for Karma.
Personally, I think the Health should stay as it is. But overall, our defensive ability in most build is weak. I’d rather see more useful traits and improvement to skills, defensive or offensive, than just upping our Health to 13K like a Mesmer. I mean, there will always be a “weakest” profession Health and Armor wise. And personally, I have no problem with it being Ele. However, I do think that in PvP, Ele could use some improvements (which should also affect PvE of course).
mesmer has a weak hp base? with my mesmer im glass cannon and I has 21khp with berseker :P if i build him bunker holy *
Glass cannon mesmers don’t have Vitality on any of their gear. They should have between 15k-16k hp. Saying you have 21k hp in berserker means you’re not full glass cannon.
As the title says. When you first log in, it seems to work but after you die, it then will no longer stack (at least for me ). I have had another guild member advise me that it happened with a sigil that they use.
Currently relogging fixes the issue, however this isn’t really convenient when in WvW or a dungeon.
Has anyone determined what is causing this?
Come on over to SoS’s EU peeps! While it’s sometimes fun for us to pull all nighters to cover your timezone to hold our lead, it would be nice if that wasn’t always necessary. Join the server that continually bands together to succeed. SoS – Number 1 for a reason.

Sad show from Tier 1 servers thus far, You hold SMC yet never take advantage of its tactical benefits against blue. Never in any of the previous tiers have I seen it more obvious. Tier 2 was more a show of Skill and tactics than Tier 1.
All we got in Tier 1 is two zerg servers banding together afraid to lose their positions.
We’ll strip it from you eventually, your double team is nothing but a very very sad and disgusting delay. No one deserves to be up this high with those kind of tactics.

Newsflash. WvWvW means it is ALWAYS your server against the other 2 servers. This is the same for EVERY SERVER.
Essentially you are saying “OMG it’s not 1v1 so it’s not fair if we’re losing”. It’s WvWvW not WvW.

You don’t have the biggest ego I’ve seen on the internet but you sure are trying to achieve that goal. Congratulations on your internet meetings with all of your commanders, they sound like a big deal.
I hate it when other Tier 1 servers make it sound like we are wrong to be responsible and organized.
It makes me feel so old hanging out with all these other 18+ year old adults on SOS.

Your unorganized server has won 1 out of 7 matches. There is no circumstance where a rational person could think that winning 1 out of 7 matches (soon to be 8 ) means that you’re the better server. It’s ok though. In another 6 weeks when you still haven’t won another matchup you’ll still be saying “remember that time when we beat you”. It will be as empty then as it is now

I just had a thief pop an ability (not sure what it is) that gave him a line of boons and then from stealth proceeded to put no less than 24k damage into me in under 3 seconds. I have 1600 toughness. He was able to do this by pushing a button. Not getting into combat, spawning 3 clones, shattering to get 12 stacks of might and then spawning another 3 clones to shatter. No mesmer can do all of that in 3 seconds or prepare it out of combat.
Say thank you for the buff and stop trying to give back any good thing that Arena Net gives this class.

Mesmer rightly should have this buff. IMO shatter build wasn’t even that strong before this “buff”
And realistically, you’d only be able to utilize 15 stacks of might. We aren’t able to generate an amount of clones that will take us to 18+ stacks of might AND use it on the opponent.
The OP was generalizing and the fact that other professions can kill rather quickly without the effort that a mesmer has to put in, is a testament to why this isn’t overpowered.
I have never lost to a thief in one on one combat with a build which I will not discuss. Or any melee character for that matter. The problem here is that the community only plays one build and can’t figure out others. Because of that they think that if they die against a certain class with a certain build that class must be OP. Just learn to counter it and use a different build. There should never be a dominant build ever.
Actually, we were talking about whether the might stacking on Shattered Strength was overpowered. Nowhere did anyone say that expected that they could counter any class in game with a specific build. A comparison was made to remind people that other classes have the ability to stack might to increase their burst, and frankly, do it much easier than a mesmer can.
Also, I run about 4 different mesmer builds myself with different gear and know of others that do the same. Thinking that the entire mesmer community uses the same build is folly. Also, saying you’ve never been beaten 1v1 by a thief or melee class leads me to believe one of two things. A) You’re lying, or B ) You only fight players who are sub 80 and use bad builds.

I still run full berserker gear for wvw. Just run Staff/Sword Pistol. 20/20/0/0/30. Mind Wracks doing great burst, phantasms hitting hard plus the survivability of the staff. While i can’t wait for the berserker to be fixed so it does it’s proper damage again, I’m not sure that I’ll be letting go of the staff to pick it back up.
Seriously Suddendeath? Such poor sportsmanship. If you want 1v1 pvp do structured. Trash talking people who have outplayed you just makes you look foolish. Perhaps you should take a break from the game.
The 1-2 standby seconds the Zerker now takes to attack is also killing the skill.
Fighting a champion or a AoE player can easily make the skill useless as it will kill the phantasm before it attacks.As we get nerfed every patch, I’m getting demotivaded every patch.
That is counteracted by selecting the trait “Phantasms Have Fury”
Speaking of poor sportsmanship shouldn’t the title of this thread read SoS & JQ vs SBI? Everytime I log in we can be defending a tower and have both SoS and JQ on opposite sides of the same tower and I refuse to believe they are both there and neither knows about the other. What really boggles my mind though is how JQ puts up with it. SoS is absolutely running away with it getting the bonuses for their server while you’re content to play meat screen and it’s still going to land you in the bottom bracket. But if you want to be the peasants SoS stands on who am I to stop you.
I think it should be fully obvious that servers were not meant to be teaming up in WvWvW but if you’re that desperate to pull us out of top spot I take it as a compliment, so keep em coming.

Not sure whether you realise this, but this is an intended side effect of 3 server combat. There will always be times where you feel like you are being set upon from all sides. This is the very nature of WvWvW. People who whine about being 2v1’d in WvWvW need to either understand that it is how the game works and get on with it, or perhaps play something that doesn’t frustrate them so much.
Perhaps less time on the forums QQing and more time in the borderlands trying to win…. Actually no.. I enjoy your QQ. Keep it coming.
I’m calling stealth nerf. I’m certain that i’ve taken all of the boons from a guardian before (more than 3) with it and a guildy of mine said that he has done this multiple times. Getting beyond a joke with the nerfs now.
Not certain whether it has always only swapped 3 but the tooltip never stipulated a cap before. Have just noticed this today when explaining the slot skills to a friend leveling a mesmer.
Can anyone confirm whether or not this has received a nerf? Couldn’t find anything in patch notes.

To all the people who are saying that limiting server transfers to 1 per 7 days is going to ruin their game, I would like to point out that having people able to transfer every day (and even more often on release) was ruining the game for people like me, who play this game primarily for WvW.
Guesting will be up and running as soon as possible and all will be right with the world again. Please understand that this news is great for us pvpers who one week have a good pvp team, go up a teir and then large amounts of people leave to go to which ever server has a head start.
In fairness to your argument, I feel that what they should have done is left the transfers to 1 per day but made it so you couldn’t enter WvW on your new server for a week after transferring. This would be a solution that I think would please everybody.
Portal is useful for flanking an attacking group. BUT, the amount of people that go through it would need to be in the keep defending it to begin with so could still easily destroy you from the walls or use seige to do the same thing.
You need a greater force of attackers to take down a heavily defended keep.
If they are already inside your keep, it’s because you failed at defending it. The portal didn’t get them in, your gate/wall falling down did. If a gate or wall didn’t fall down, they are exploiting so report them. Portal isn’t the problem if they’re exploiting.
I’m saying it only works when you have an inattentive enemy. If you pay the same amount of attention in game as you seem to be paying to reading my posts, it’s no wonder this is taking you by surprise.
It is in game, it is working as intended. Is in no way an exploit. Perhaps you don’t know what an exploit is. This IS a learn to play issue for you.
Like multiple people have said, getting portal to work in the way that you are complaining about is a mammoth task which requires large amounts of people to follow directions in a small window of time all without the enemy (who are within 4000 yards) seeing them.
Flyhacking is an exploit genius. Also learn to read, portal is almost NEVER on my bar. It is hardly “my crutch”.
There are already limiting factors on how portal can be used. They are – Must be within radar range, exit portal must be put down within 60 seconds and there is a 15 second window to use the portal. If you cannot see a large group of people within radar range getting ready to use the portal and react accordingly (like watch where the bloody mesmer puts down the exit portal and position yourself) you deserve whatever is coming to you. How about learning spot a tactic and countering it rather than just saying it’s OP because you can’t do it.
Learn to take notice of your surroundings and stop crying when the other team is clearly working together more effectively than yours.
Betting all my money that this guy has a portal, and is mad, and likes roflstomping armies with invisible armies.
Fact is, portal is hard to counter. That makes it unbalanced. You can’t kill the portal once its down. Its instant cast so all the mesmer needs to do is sprint into the zerg with a speed buff and then its there for anybody to use and there isn’t anything the other team can do about it but try to counter whatever comes out. Whatever comes out is a problem because of the rendering issues, and its really hard to kill invisible armies. This fact makes using portals to transport mass armies almost an exploit, seeing as how the reason its so effective and why the other team “just gets massacred” is because they can’t freaking see you. Thief stealth breaks upon using an ability, so that isn’t an option for debate at all. Finally, because the nature of using mesmer portals in WvW is essentially a surprise attack, that makes it that much harder to prepare against what they bring.
So basically in a nutshell, a team who is getting portal’d on has to deal with an invisible army coming out of a portal they can’t close and the realization that this needs to be done has to happen in the time span of about 3-5 seconds, depending if anybody saw the mesmer lay the second portal or not, and how fast they can type a warning in map chat that nobody reads. Sounds pretty balanced to me /sarcasm.

Really? there is a 15 second window for people to use the portal, the entry portal only lasts 60 seconds AND it’s range is limited to radar range. To get alot of people to use it takes time and preparation and all servers can do this.
Personally, I barely use portal on my mesmer. Blink, Feedback and null field usually occupy mine.
Long story short, portal used well is a great tactic that is open to all servers. Stop complaining and start planning on how to use yours effectively. I think people are sensitive about the spell because exploiters use it in conjunction with wall hacks to get groups into keeps. Portal used legitimately is fine how it is.
I’m still loving the game and imagine that I will for a long time to come. Will I go back to WoW and play MoP? Maybe. But not in the near future at least. GW2 will still have players and servers will still be heavily populated regardless of people going back to Wow. Mainly because WoW is the king of weekly downtime. Tuesday night = GW2 party.
Can we please have some kind of developer response to this? While i understand that there are other bugs in the game which are also important, the ability steer your character with the mouse being intermittant is gamebreaking.

Currently experiencing this same issue with my Razer Naga. Very very frustrating. Have tried a number of things to try to rectify this. Hesitant to buy a new mouse given that this problem appears to be wide spread.
