Wojo.7906

When I go to launch the game it starts to download. But after hitting 4% downloaded roundabouts it crashes. I’ve tried launching several times, but no dice. Thought it was because I logged in immediately, but not logging in didn’t help.

Anyone here having this problem? I saw at least 3 other people on reddit are having this problem.

My order of preference:

1. New feminine skin for Asura/Charr that don’t have human boobplates.

1.5. Holes for tails, ears/horns, and toes/claws.

2. The current male armor skin.

3. What you have in-game now.

Have you always been able to get credit for dodging in SPvP dailies? I don’t think so, but I’m not sure I’m remembering correctly. It seems that at least those who SPvP can get some of the PvE dailies while PvPing.

Similar story here. I got the daily condition remover in the middle of an sPVP match. It also might mix up the stale sPVP dailies, and it was a welcome unexpected change for me. (I guess I’m in the minority here but) I feel like the list of dailies I saw were more tangible for me to complete, and I didn’t have to travel or do anything I didn’t want to. It just happened. Like it did before Laurels were implemented. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll stay that way.

I think we’ll see any daily rotation include dailies that sPvPers didn’t normally get credit for, so this isn’t the end of dailies for strictly PvPers.

That said, my fiance, who is strictly PvE, is upset that he can’t do as many dailies. Certainly the number of dailies that any type of player (WvW, PvE, sPvP) could/would normally do has been reduced.

Well, I defended these new events at first..

It seems like people still think marionette is a hard fight to learn.

But my first time participating was also on the first day when no one really knew quite what to do. I still could figure it out a little. We had NPCs yelling to not let enemies get to the portal, and a few other players saying to target champs. When it’s a lane’s turn to enter the portal, we get GIANT blue/green arrows moving to the portal which has turned green. When fighting a champ there is flavor text under the hp bar, as with all mobs in GW2, that tells players how to beat it and what to watch out for.

I feel this event was designed with a lot of direction on how to do it, and I am not sure how else Anet could teach players what they needed (although I’m sure people in the gaming industry can). Those hints listed above are helpful, useful, and easy to see and understand.

Thanks for a good conclusion to this story

The ending really gave me the feeling I get after completing a good book, or beating a single player game. Never had that feeling in an MMO before. Bravo Anet!

Omelette Achievememnt

I don’t know if we plan on changing the level of the omelette, but I do think that the achievement will stick around, so as soon as you do reach that level and munch on Owain’s omelette, you should be able to get it.
I can’t guarantee that Owain will always be selling omelettes in the future, but she does seem quite passionate about it, so I imagine they’ll be available for a while.

Thank you! My fiancee and I were trying to do all the southsun achievements until he realized he couldn’t eat the omelette. He then spent all his gold trying to speed craft to 75. Then he got frustrated trying to speed level in WVW (he hates pvp). Now we can go back to having fun in southsun again.

Why do Charr have horns?

Interesting topic. Here are two possibilities (of many).

Actually, according to here (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC54605 as I understood it) carnivora and artiodactyla are more closely related than the other main groups of eutheria. I’m not saying they can cross breed, but there may have been some predisposition in the genes that enabled early Charr to form small horns, or a change in development could have led to larger horns (mutations are funny). These horns would have been useful on fights, as cats tend to attack necks with paw swipes and bites. Horns could’ve helped defend/hurt opponents during fights.

Alternatively, Charr may have evolved from some artiodactyla line. That line has led to whales and a giant meat eating pig. It could also have lost hooves and formed a more pawlike foot, along with other more general carnivora traits. This thing then took on a niche similar to cats, and then Charr themselves. The horns were there the whole time, it was the rest of the body that changed.

Jumping Puzzle Feedback [Merged]

I wasn’t able to play during the Clocktower puzzle so I can offer no comparison.

However, I do enjoy this puzzle despite not being able to finish (about 3hrs total time trying). Things stopping me are near 90 degree turns (yes using right mouse button to turn) and my giant charr head bumping into a snowflake I’m trying to jump on. It’s fun to watch the people who can keep going, or throw snowballs at others who failed. I thought the wait was really long, until I realized it waited until everyone had finished or fallen. I like the ability to see most of the puzzle, while hiding the very end.

Perhaps an easier version of the next JP, with less rewards (skilled players should be rewarded) where people can practice jumping and becoming familiar with the types of jumps needed to finish the real JP? I spend so much time waiting, and only about 10-20 sec of actually practicing the jumps.
