Aye i have been considering quick breathing however i find both options about equal considering most of my time is spent in GS mode. I really think u cannot have to much condition removal in WvW but lacking fast hands i prefer staying in GS mode for most encounters.

Valk would be a good option were my focus more about crit damage but my build is more about steady big hits and the fire proc via my gs hits hard with the very high power. Also I have perma fury so crit chance is actually 70 which is plenty to crit near every hit. Good tip about the oil tho I was in the dark about that one.

After a lot of trial and error and gold spent i have finally finished a build im very happy with for both PvE and WvW content. Hopefully the build can be of help with you if your looking for a setup that can handle most situations thrown at it with no gear swapping needed.

“Metal Beast”

Attack: 2991
Critical Chance: 47 (50 with Omnomberry Ghost)
Critical Damage: 19
Armor: 3007
Health: 23172

Traits:
STR 20 Berserkers Power/Slashing Power
ARMS 20 Rending Strikes/Forceful Greatsword
DEF 0
TACT 30 Empowered/Shrug It Off/Vigorous Shouts
DISC 0

Skills:
Healing: Mending
Utility: For Great Justice/Shake It Off/Bull’s Charge (For PvE I tend to use On My Mark)
Elite: Signet of Rage

Weapons:
Greatsword 1: Knight w Sup Fire Sigil (My primary weapon)
Greatsword 2: Berserker w Sup Bloodlust Sigil for stacking power
Sword: Knight w Sup Fire Sigil
Warhorn: Knight w Sup Battle Sigil

Armor: Knight w Sup Soldier Rune
Trinkets: Knight w Berserker Jewel
Back: Berserker w Berserker Jewel (Story mission back piece)

Using the above i have consistently taken on small groups in WvW and won as well as both tanking and dpsing very well in the dungeon content. I truly enjoy getting up close and personal hense the lack of a ranged weapon. With this setup you are very balanced between damage/defense/mobility and you maintain great condition removal which i believe should be every players biggest concern.

One weakness of this build is the lack defense vs knockdowns, tho Bull’s Charge can be swapped for Balanced Stance to assist with this.

I hope this short guide can be of some use to you and im open to any and all critiques given.

P.S. EAT YOUR OMNOMBERRY GHOST!!!
