I need help; not sure if its just me but, I ’ve played at least 1000 games (solo que) with my ranger and it just seems like ranger cant keep up with any other profession in terms of damage or durability.
Is spirit/condi rangers the only viable option we have as rangers? I tried it, and its so boring to play because its a weak supportive role and is easily shut down (AoE). I currently play signet/RaO, seems to be most versatile.
I’ve noticed that rangers have a hard time holding points since most of our damage mitigation comes from kiting. Which doesn’t help for obvious reasons.
Maybe i just need help with strategies against certain foes.
For Example, this is usually how it goes with the following professions:
First wielding a bow…
Thieves: (Never played one so excuse the technicalities please.) Shadowstep attack -> blind (switch to greatsword and use block skill), -> greatsword kick misses (blind) -> thief barrage of jumpy attk thing (activating my signets to mitigate dmg), thief cloak-> waits for my buffs to die -> resumes jumpy attk thing (meanwhile i swing my sword hoping i evade, but attacks miss due to thief’s evade while attacking or more blinds) -> I eventually die because cant knock him back with point blank shot due to evade and blinds.
Mesmers: Simply either dazed or confused by the swarm of illusions
Engineers: Turrets and shields. Use bow? I get hit with my own arrows or gets blocked. Greatsword? Turrets spray all over me. Barrage? Not enough dmg to finish one turret.
Warriors: Everything? Dmg/Durability/Stuns
Please share your strategies or builds other than spirit or condition based.
Thank you.
