Is it over yet? can I come back and play?
I think GW2 should take a hint from EQ2 and LoTRO and use similar emotes. They have a vast array of them for just about every situation.
S’ok, my best is this update is one they’ve been working on before really knowing just what was going up with the FPS issue and how to try and fix it. Considering how quickly this patch came out in relation to Gaile’s post.
I’m going to be patient for the next patch.
Could have been lies just to shut us up.
I’m willing to give them more than a couple of hours before I make that determination.
Awesome, thank you Gaile.
All we really wanted was your heavenly text to let us know everything will be alright.
We get scared when we’re alone.
I’ll give them quite a long time to fix it before I start looking for another game to play. My guess is that it’s something buried deep down in the UI script. The reason I’m a bit miffed right now is how Anet is handling the problem. Like if they were just upfront and honest then I’m sure everyone would be a lot more patient with them.
I play many other games other than GW2, some of them more graphics intensive than GW2. None of those other games are having any problems. Yet GW2, after a patch, many people are having the same problem with FPS drops.
Like it’s so painfully obvious what Anet is doing is the equivalent of a really fat guy hiding behind a skinny lightpole, and we’re standing here going “Dude, we can see you” while Anet goes “NUH-UH!”
yeah time to hunt for a new MMO if this keeps up.
“It’s on YOUR end” is Anet’s standard response to everything. Like, no. Dude, the game worked absolutely just fine, a patch came, and suddenly it was nearly unplayable. Sorry but at this point Anet is just insulting people’s intelligence.
You know, Anet. You’d make a lot more headway and gain a lot more trust by just saying something like “Something went wrong, sorry, we’ve made it a priority.”
Instead Anet, you blame us. That’s practically insult to injury.
Just like everyone else on here, my FPS rises considerably when the UI is hidden, and drops considerably when I open windows.
lol! so i just tried changing my resolution and back like previously advised, only to change my resolution to the wrong one and now cant display gw2 on my monitor, but because of that, i cant get in the game to change my resolution so it will change, how do i change it out of the game?:L
Reinstall, I think :/
Yeah apparently directly after the patch all of our Computers decided to malfunction in the same way at the same time. Clearly it is OUR fault.
Like, screw you too Anet. You wanna know what’d soothe all our brows? for a dev to come in here and just say “We kittened up, and we’re working on it.” Like, that’s it.
I don’t see this as an issue. I always find plenty of groups who do not care if you don’t roll full zerker.
Just put it under the instrument slider. Everyone’s happy that way.
I can’t enjoy the LS experience because Dry Top for one reason or another causes my client to chug along at 3 fps. not 33, not 30, 3. As in, three frames per second.
Considering I can run a majority of the game in the mid 20’s to upper 30’s FPS, Dry Top confuses and infuriates me.
It’s to the point where I only make a new character if I have one of those “Straight to level 20” scrolls.
Wtg Anet. You enacted a policy nobody wanted at the time, and that people still don’t want. Many people I have spoken to as well as myself had absolutely zero problems when we first started out. At least not compared to other MMO’s. Yet now new players have their intelligence insulted, and old players have to sit and plod through an unfun, grindy, horrible gameplay experience. Way to kittening go.
I just think from a pvp perspective it’d be nice to actually be able to have a war between guilds.
I mean come on, it’s right in the title. Guild Wars. Why can’t we War Guilds?
those dragons are gonna go back to sleep any day now
What, due to sheer lack of excitement?
Yeah. I won’t disagree that this new system may very well work for new players. But ultimately, veteran players once again get overlooked and even hamstrung a bit. It seems Anet is forgetting that player retention is just as important if not more so than drawing in new players. I had many guild mates just up and leave, as well as friends. I’m considering leaving as well, due to other circumstances (Used to get a solid 30 fps in Lions Arch, now its down to 10? that echoes across all of my gameplay) so considering the fact the game was playing perfectly fine directly before the update, and then after the update my PC sounds like it wants to burst out of its chassis and it chugs along, idk man.
Anet, why do you do this kinda stuff? Instead of hamstringing your vets and forcing a lot to leave, why not work of optimizing your game?
Because right now its about as optimized as a knife to the throat. For reference I can play Skyrim, EVE, GTA IV, and other similar games on kitten near max graphics without any hiccups.
Apparently this system works really, really well in China. What Anet seems to forget is that what works in China does not always work in the West. A very casual glance at video games popular in China and popular in the West will make that dreadfully clear.
So, I’d like to see what Anet thinks of all this.
Or are you going to continue to snub one of your most loyal and might I add, profitable, userbases?
You know the RP community is the reason games like, oh, idk, Everquest 2 stayed alive long after it should have died? If you help cultivate your RP community Anet, you’ll see more positive figures in your bank accounts. Just saying. I really don’t see why they have such a beef with us.
Did the RP community kick your dog or something, Anet? Why do you dislike us so much? It’s not even open hatred. You just patronize us all the time when you do deign to respond to us.
