Guild Calendar - Very, very important thing!

Is something like Guild Calendar going to be added to the game? I would like to see an option like that in the “G” panel, near Guild Missions, Root, Ranks etc.

I think that something like that is very important for guilds, and helps to plan, and organize every ingame action.
In the ranks should appear an option then, who allows some people to modify this calendar, and other to just allow people sign up for any events.
Guild mates would create there events like PvP, WvWvW, Dungeons, Fractals, RolePlay, Guild Missions and other available content.

Look at that from this perspective- when ull have organized guilds in ur game, then people will know precisely the game. Supporting guilds is really important thing in the MMORPG’S, cause without a guilds u havent got a good game at all. When people dont have tools to make it good organized, then some of people login, and just dont know whats going on in the next hours, or just this day, or day after, or this week Guilds often learn new players, and helps them in the new world.

Ofc some guilds creates their own calendars, forums and do it there (like mine), and it partly works… But i mean, when game has a thing like this tool (ingame), then it works few times better

When HoT is coming, then older version of GW2 is no longer worth anything – maybe some symbolic amount of money, but nothing more.

Its fine that Anet dont force new people to pay for it, cause they’re not able to play this version of GW2 (as we played it) anymore. This is the past.

We was able to lvling our characters, discover all the world, play pvp (ranked, unranked, tournaments, esl etc), wvw seasons, and do all this cool stuff for all this time, while new players wasnt able to do it.

We used what we paid for. We received many hours of fun, and new players, which can buy HoT + GW2 cant back to these days. They’re going to start a new adventure, witch a brand new accounts, while we’ve got accounts with lvled characters, pvp skills, cool titles, minies, etc etc…

Ey, guys. I feel like most of you dont understand how B2P MMO works.
But thats understandable, cause there’s not much this kind of MMORPGs.
Most of you misjudged the situation.

Yeah, price of this expansion may be too high, if u compare it to the content which is going to appear in the begining of HoT, but ONLY when GW2 would be a P2P game.
Not B2P.
Cause then it may (and even should) cost like 10$ for an expansion like this, but then we would have to pay subscription to play more and discover next updates.
While here we pay for all this months or even years of playing.

And by the way, when it comes to the B2P games – if expansion comes, the basic game is no longer worth anything. We used it already. We paid for it and we used it. Even if somebody bought this game in january (-75%) then he paid just for this few months before HoT – to lvl some characters, discover the world etc etc. The only losers are these people which bought it in the last month for a bad price, but Anet is probably going to help them. Anyway there’s not many of them, while almost all of you whine on the forums etc.

I hope Anet isnt angry cause of your behavior guys and they’re not going to do something wrong in the future, cause of the last situation.

This is good as a temporary supplement/holiday, to have a fun and experience smt new. But hey, this is not a game like that, and I dont think, thats good to add a content like that, to be permanent.

Ofc more content in SAB is a good idea, like Halloween/Wintersday etc, need more content to be added, cause in the next year this holiday shouldnt be exactly the same.

(BTW I hope ArenaNet is going to add world 2 in this month, and I believe, that it is in their plans.)

Now this ladies and gentlemen is a winning post. I’ve always dreamed of raids, but didn’t see them possible in GW2 and this guy comes and tells that you can have them simply as that When i think about it, it’s the same sPvP principle… I just can’t hold my excitement that the raids are really possible ^.^
Addressing the progression systems topic, I really like ones where you get something special to wield as a bonus to go deep in a tree (I guess FF XII is something similar).
For example:
Profession goes x points in a specific tree – BOOM ! You can now wield bazooka.
Prof. goes x in one tree and y in another – WHAM ! You mastered how to use nunchakus.
I think this would add more uniqueness to a play / player style.

When I was writing it was 2:00 am, so I’m really sorry for some mistakes that i’ve made, but also atm I can tell something more about my idea.
Even WvWvW shouldnt be pressed into the “open world” and ive made a mistake by writing it. I just focused more on PvE stuff. But yeah, IMO when we really want a good modes in the mmorpg’s, then we’ve to separate them, and let them life of its own, and develop in different ways – this is the future. ArenaNet for now is making it a little bit, cause we’ve got separated PvP, and WvWvW. Maybe in WvWvW we’re using same armors (stats) like in the Open World, but hey – they’ve added ranks, and skills there – what’s really good progress for this mode, and it can be still developing. That’s good. Likewise, in pvp – they can still develop there so many things. But IMO for now this game miss so much a separate mode for PvE – to separate solid, PvE stuff from open world.

In sum:

Open World: Cool story, plot things, awesome world full of interesting things, living elements, bosses, guild missions, dungeons, fractals – and where every person is able to progress their character by: getting exotic/ascended/legendary armors/weapons – but IMO not more. IMO Exotic should be always something good in the open world content. Also people can get there cool skins, titles, minis, etc, etc…

WvWvW mode with their own progression system, where we’re able to get new ranks, skills – This all can be still developed in various ways.

PvP mode as i wrote. Every1 uses same stat items there, and people can finaly play real, balanced PvP in the mmorpg. We just need more maps, and maybe new modes like… 8v8 maps, 1v1, new rewards (but ArenaNet wrote something about it in the last days so… They know exactly what to do for this mode: better rewards, pvp seasons etc etc)

PvE mode as i wrote, if we want to talk about a real PvE mode in a game like that, IMO the best solution is to create separate mode for it – like its done for pvp. There would be a map with NPC’s. People would sign there for new raids, and for any practice or smt. U would add one, extensive, and demanding raid per 6 months or something like that, and let people progress it. Just focus on bosses, and advanced battle with them – not doing a “dungeon”, where boss is just a part of it. Separate builds, skills, vendors – professional mode, where each raid member has a role. Those who did any raid would get new items with stats, to be able to do next raids, and show others, that they did it. And lets give them titles too – cause people should be able to show that they did it in Open World too. Maybe lets create a “first world kill” or smt like that and leaderboards? After that PvE would have taken the professional nature.

In my opinion it would be a very healthy option for all players. Every player would find here (in this game) something for themselves, and also – then GW2 would be really top1 mmorpg.

I don’t think it’s a question of casual vs hardcore, although it does somewhat depend on your definition of the terms. Some people define it as easy (casual) vs difficult (hardcore), but the game can have easy content and it can have hard content – that isn’t the problem, or wouldn’t be, if players could easily achieve a statistical level playing field and content difficulty was matched by skill instead of gear level.

The Raids you’re talking about are already in the game: fractals. The problem is that people that like vertical progression stat-wise want it in every content. People that dislike it don’t want it.

IMO player sometimes is casual, and the same player sometimes is hardcore one, cause people sometimes have more time to play, but sometimes less. And its great in GW2, that open world is free of hardcore stuff and typical rat race. This is healthy. We’ve got no situation here, where a player login, and this player is far behind the other players.
However note that in this open world of GW2 u’ve got PvP mode too, and there’s alot place for PvP hardcore players, but even if u want to play less, then u dont feel bad if u lose something there, cause its only one of GW2’s modes. In the main game ur still great. Same with WvWvW – u can play this mode like a hardcore one, but when u’ve got less time or desire, then u can do it more casual – then ur not going to make new ranks there, but hey – ur still welcome to the game, cause its only one modes of it – main game is free of these ranks, right?
Problem of many games was that, they pulled gear (or something similar) progres to the main game, which thing had an effect on main game. For example, you earn great armor (by raiding), and u can use it almost everywhere, and ur 3x better than people who dont have them. So u force every other player to gain these items too (start raiding) – its bad. Its better, when they can choose how they want to get it.

That’s why im talking about separate modes for every solid mode in this game. Like: PvP, WvWvW (these two we’ve got already), and PvE! We’ve got no professional PvE for this moment, guys. We’ve got so many cool PvE stuff, but i would like to see something really decent that is not constrained by main game. This mode should develop on their own unique way – as PvP, and WvWvW. Is the whole world talking about fractals as a challenge in the MMORPG world? NO. Noone is talking about it. That’s just a part of open world content – interesting pve stuff to do, like a dungeons, guild missions etc. We really miss professional approach.
Yeah, so many people can tell, that we’ve got fractals, and that’s something like raids, and ofc they’ve got some rights. Fractals are great, but that’s still a dungeon, not raid, or something like that. We’ve got guild missions too, whats a really great thing, but thats good one just for a “normal” content, that we love – but not solid, demanding, progressive pve.

Note that if u’ve got dungeon, fractal, or even mission – then they simply just cant reward, as many players want – and these things just give us a substitute of progression. And i understand that, cause then it would be like a WoW’s bad way – reward people by doing fractals with strong, progression items, while they prefer to play other stuff in this open world, right? Its not good, when people are forced to e.g play fractals to get much better, and better items, that they can use in other game places too. That’s why ArenaNet have to reward people with same rewards in many things. People can get exotic’s in many ways, and they feel enough strong by having them.
And all of it just limit devs, when they want to make a solid PvE content, that many people waits for. And that’s IMO best way is to simply create “PvE mode” like we’ve got PvP and WvWvW. Put there new builds for this mode, armors with stats, and widely understood progress! Which progress not adversely affect the entire game. There will be still other mode for PvP – with no-stats items. WvWvW, where we’ve got ranks, and maybe something more in the future. Open World, where every1 is not forcing to do some things (like raids) to be “good” Fractals are great, but do not get me wrong – fractals are still something like a dungeon, and fractals are in the main game, where gear progress shouldnt exist. Thats why im talking about separate mode.

Remake WvW. Create Battlegrounds

As title says: delete this mode (finaly), and create something better. Its almost 5 years, which showed clearly that WvW didnt work. Its interesting on paper, but the reality is more brutal.

My proposition:

Take what’s good from WvW and create epic, innovative battlegrounds. Let people play 10v10, 20v20, 50v50 etc games. Or even 10v10v10, 20v20v20, 50v50v50 etc. It is less important. But remake ur system – its the main problem.

After all you can still support one big open WvW map, which works similar to current WvW. But 1 map like this should be enough. Let people to have fun there. But focus on well-organized battlegrounds.

Do not be afraid of good changes.

GEAR PROGRESSION WITHOUT A GEAR PROGRESSION IN THE MAIN GAME
For now we’ve got Exotic Armors, what’s great, cause thats the basic, what every person should gain, if that person want to be pretty good, and able to do some PvE/WvWvW stuff easier. Its ok. We can gain it in the different ways, what’s cool, cause IMO exotics should be just a set, which allows u to do some ingame stuff. We can get it from dungeons, wvw, bla bla… OK. In time, you guys have added ascended gear too, and its a good addition to these exotics – we’ve got better stats, but that’s still similar. It’s fine. And people who have these exotics, or even ascended armors ofc should be able to enjoy the most of content. Like… They should be able to do some dungeons without a problem, fractals, guild missions, story, WvWvW, and this all kinds of normal, fun content.

And at the same time there should appear a gear progression. Yeah, do not be afraid of it. IMO well-done gear progress can be really successful.
Dont u think, that it would be enough, if u create a huge mode called “RAIDS”, and then you’ll make special armors, that people can gain, and wear just there? They would use these armors only in this mode – like in PvP we’re using other items. But in this PvE mode called Raids players would progres items which have better, and better stats. Players would progress first raids, gain these items, and then they would be able to get next, and next – and lets give them a reward for it (exept items… like… titles, leaderboards etc). Let them progress it.
And what’s more, all this will not affect the main game content If some people dont want to play it, then they’ll dont – like right now, not every1 is playing PvP. They will not feel deprived, cause entire game will be free of difference statistics, and gear progression. But ofc u can ask how about people who want to raid, but they just cant do it well. That’s simple – they’ll work on it – maybe slower, but hey! They’ve got a challenge!
But what’s important – when we’re talking about raids, then you have to know one important thing: People must have a role there. Clearly defined role and if they’ll fail, then all raid fails. This mode must be well made. And whats interesting – when its going to be a separate mode like pvp, then ur able to make some changes there – like add some special skills, traits or smt (just for this mode). And what’s interesting – imo these raids would be a content for guilds. And let every member of a guild join there – dont limit it for some players. Just make any scaling system or smt. Then guilds would appear on leaderboards.

Then you’ve got professional made PvP, and PvE mode in your game.
And at the same time we’ve got open, fantasy world too, where we’re able to do a lot of things I think it could work. Think about it too.

Open world: story, dungs, fractals, guild missions, puzzles, wvwvw, etc, etc…
PvP: like right now – separate mode, where every1 is using gear with the same stats, and people have to practice. Leaderboards, seasons, titles, etc, etc…
PvE: separate mode, where people have got raids, where they can progres their raid gear. Also there should be leaderboards for it, titles, etc etc…

Servers does not make sense - small idea

Hello there,

For a long time I’m thinking about Mega and WvW servers. Do not you think it should be changed a little bit? In my opinion new players do not understand the current system of servers, and it should be fixed.

1. Let them select the WvW server when they want to select it. Not at the start of the game, when they do not even know what’s WvW. They should select a server at the first entering the WvW.

2. If the servers are only for WvW, then let us select any region, flag or something like that when we login to the game. Same as we can select the language of the game. E.g. If someone is German and will choose the German region/flag, then system puts him on megaserver with other German people, which marked this region/flag. Same with every other nation.


In my opinion this is the most sensible way out.

It would be brilliant, to see special, created map, what would be some sandbox. People could build there Guild Houses, and upgade it more, and more – eventually you would turn them into castles in the future. The best thing in it would be that every other guild would see the others houses Often in games is a problem, that other people cant see ours Guild House, that we made :/ Its able to see only for members. Also there need to be a thing, that allows to teleport to this house.

And ofc better PvE stuff – good dungeons, who require teamplay, and make that people feels needed there and that they’re making something unique there. Like in the other MMORPG’s it was like some of people was a tanks – they felt special, cause they was responsible for the other group mates. It was the same with healers
PvE need more teamplay, and stuff like that – then people will love it, when they can progres with a guilds, and practice more, and more. One is going to make it slower, others faster, but everyone’s got target then And something to do. And the important thing – If something is hard to do, they should get appropriate reward. Not the same as for doing something easier, cause there’s no sense to do harder thing at all then :P

Of course, without exaggeration, Im not talking about a groups who’s got 25 players, or even 50… Whats really 2much. 5, or 8 is imo perfect number, and every guild can do it then

Custom Arena Time Tokens for Glory

IMO people should be able to buy these tokens for glory, while they have to buy Arena Starter for gems (1800), and that would be great. U’ve to buy arena once, and then pay for it by gems or glory – ur choice. One will play more, and use glory, one prefer to do it easier, by using gems. It’s healthy.

Hmph, but im almost sure, that u guys are going to let people pay for starter by gems, or glory, and then pay for time tokens only by gems, right :/? Ur probably sure, that more people will buy starter for glory, and then they’ll have to buy more gems to pay for it. That’s greedy. In the long run this will not work.

I hope there will appear reasonable, and fair option.
