hi I am trying to download the game too and my game wouldn’t update at all. I finally found a solution which involves changing the assert server address. I am sure there must be a way to change the login server. Try changing the server by using the specific Authentication server.

Hi….I recently decided to come back Gw2 and I proceeded to download Gw2( a fresh copy). Having started downloading my client updated exactly 4gb of data on Gw2.Dat file and finished about 100000files approx. But now I see that my client is downloading but the “No. of files to be downloaded” is not dropping and its stuck at 223402. Moreover the Gw2.Dat is not updating beyond 4 Gb. I have a NTFS system hard disk so I know this is not the problem. Is there files bigger than 100mb??? The reason I am asking is because I am on a CAPPED download speed, although unlimited.
