Just recently got this reply from Anet regarding my lost stuff:

“The Guild Wars 2 Support Team is unable to restore missing characters, items, or Gems. We are also unable to manually transfer characters from one server to another. I understand this may be frustrating, but we simply do not have the capabilities to do this.”

Nice to get a reply but for me this is a startling admission from a developer bringing an MMO to market after 4 years of work! (which does show in the quality of the game). The whole point of an MMO is that it is a persistent world and loosing all your progress and stuff following another security kitten up or technical failing (on the developers part) and never getting it back is unacceptable as every other developer knows.

Get your act together Anet – this needs sorting out quickly.

Thank you for this, I was still hoping I would be able to get rolled back. But now I guess I’ll just have to deal with it and move on. The main thing that concerned me about not knowing if I can get rolled back is that if I CAN then I would be losing the progress I’m gaining right now.

My account was hacked on the 3rd and I finally got access to my account back thanks to support. However there is still the issue of all the items that where stolen. Back when my Diablo3 account was hacked I had the option to rollback my account and was told the date & time it would be restored to.

Does Arenanet offer similar service?
Has anyone had this done for them?

How did you get your account back? Through Account Recovery page? I was hacked on 3rd as well, they send me an email with a link to account recovery page , which essentially helps in recovering password. It didnt work because I think hacker changed my account name.

Did Account Recovery page work for you? Or you followed some other procedure? If you share may be it can help others.

Well for me I create a ticket, but then I read the guide how your suppose to have “Hacked Account” as the subject in the ticket, so I made another one referencing the original ticket. I ended up getting a generic response with links in it for my incorrectly named ticket, however my “Hacked Account” ticket was changed to “Access Restored” and they changed my email back (I got an email change verification), and then I used the account recovery page and it worked (Didn’t work before). Though actually I noticed after using recovery that they had provided a temporary password for me to. But I had my new password setup already.

Anyways the moral of the story is make sure your ticket is named “Hacked Account” (If it was already then idk). I wouldn’t however recommend making multiple tickets because this will slow down support even more, if you have to make a new one with the correct name then your suppose to follow the guide and also put a ticket submitted date and ticket# in the subject beside “Hacked Account”

EDIT: Oh actually looks like I said something earlier in this topic about this, oh well.

They do have the means to but they have stated several times that they can not do it currently. Now if that means the program to do it is not implemented yet or they are understaffed because of all the support issues I have no heard. For what it’s worth it would be easier to just start over, you’d probably be back to your original state (money, gear, etc) long before they could get to you currently anyway. Sorry.

Easier said than done. My hacker deleted all my characters. I could care less about money/gear, I want my level back….

That sucks, there is hacking for personal gain by stealing all the players items, and then there’s being a complete kitten and deleting the characters for no reason. I’m sorry for you and feel lucky that I at least have my character.

I was hacked on the 3rd also and still nothing… they just sent me an automatic messenge and didnt even read my ticket… i’d expect it to be solved by now just like you since all that was done to my account was its name being altered… -.-

Did you put “Hacked Account” as the subject in your ticket? The first one I made had a different name before I read that you should put that as subject so I made a new one referencing the original ticket. I’m wondering because my original ticket got a generic copy/paste response, however my “Hacked Account” one got a different response and my email was finally changed back. I used the self help account recovery page at that time to reset my password.

My account was hacked on the 3rd and they switched back my email today and I used the recovery page to make a new password. All of my items except soul bound/account bound ones where gone. I’m trying to get them to rollback my account. Has anyone had luck with getting there account rolled back to an earlier time?
