I got the game during the sale and it’s been running flawlessly, up until 2 days ago. Since then, I get incredible lag spikes of up to a minute duration, and crashes to the character select screen with error codes every 5 – 10 minutes.
The issues started about 2 days ago when I would merely have the lag, causing skills to flash and wait before activating, and sometimes NPCs / environment objects not to be drawn. I could still move around freely without any rubber-banding, however.
Details of current issues:
Now since yesterday, I frequently get crashes with the below Error Codes, and sometimes require several attempts at selecting a character to actually begin playing due to error codes when choosing my character. Additionally the lag problem has become much more severe, to the point where most of the time I am unable to use skills at all, enemies appear not to attack on my screen, and all other players are shown to continue travelling in whatever direction they were walking in when the lag started, resulting in me seeing all human players walk mindlessly into walls. Then, after 10 ~ 90 seconds, suddenly I will see a fast-forward montage of everything that happened while I was lagged, or sometimes get a crash back to character select with an error code. Again, oddly my own movement is unaffected, and the in-game chat continues to work properly during these lag events.
I get a mixture of the following Error Codes:
Code=7:11:3:191:101
Code=7:0:0:794:101
Code=19:9:18:1583:101
Oddly, my issue seems to almost perfectly match the symptoms & error codes described in this old thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/7-11-3-191-101-Fix
Things I have already attempted:
Running a traceroute as mentioned in this page via the -diag argument on the gw2.exe client: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/27698133-Connectivity
I am not fully sure how to interpret the results, but do not see any 90%+ numbers.
I have also tried disabling all background processes and services as mentioned in this page via using MSconfig: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/27698133-Connectivity
It had no effect on my issues.
I have confirmed no other programs were installed or updated in the past 2 days, and uninstalled the most recent program as well, just to be sure.
At the moment the issue is so sever that I am literally unable to play due to the error codes I receive when attempting to log back on to a character. Occasionally I am successful, but then I get lag again, and eventually another crash to character select screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to get back to playing the game.
UPDATE:
After forwarding the required ports for Guild Wars 2 in my router and running a traceroute again, I now can see one step of the route showing 96%+ loss. However, I’m not really sure what I can do with this information to alleviate my problem…
UPDATE #2:
Here’s an edited view of my traceroute results, generated by adding the “-diag” command line argument to Gw2.exe.

Same issue here. I got the game during the sale and it’s been running flawlessly, up until 2 days ago, on approximately Feb. 5th. Since then, I get incredible lag spikes of up to a minute duration every 1 or 2 minutes, and crashes to the character select screen with error codes every 5 – 10 minutes. Still looking into it
