i dunno, I liked making 40s selling the vanilla I’ve gathered while doing zone completion in brisbane wildlands….

bad for you….but good for me?

I would say NO to adding it to goodie bags drops….trophies, cores/frags/slivers, etc are much better than more bloody butter and chocolate….

and i think the master chef warns you that cooking can be expensive….

Charr Enjoyment, why?

I wasn’t sure I was going to like the charr either. But their banter back and forth is hilarious during story missions. very well written.

Once you get past the tail, the Charr are very fun. Their combat animations look good for a warrior as well.

Often my warrior uses his signet of rage and yells, “Charr need no gods!” Then the pillaging begins.

Will there be an updated mystic forge conduit recipe?

Having a portable forge seems like a very handy item. I know the mystic chests were a temporary thing though. Is there any other way to obtain the components now?

Oh and I forgot something…

Clovers…

for the RNG haters, clovers have RNG on em too, I’ve thrown in three sets of the 10 recipes to be rewarded with 37 vicious fangs, 25 orichalcum, and 10 clovers.

So for the very unlucky, clovers could prove to be annoying as well.

@Windklinge: If RNG mechanics are so broken, bad, and unfun, why has EVERY game that ever had a random chance of something happening used RNG.
Old school 20 side die rolls
randomized loot properties ( accurate halberd of vanquishing anyone? )
set loot percentages for boss’ loot table that are given a random roll…from a certain MMO that is rather popular that just recently released an expansion.
That same MMO has sooo much RNG in it. Which is my point, EVERY game that uses some standpoint of randomness has to use RNG.

I understand that many believe that the RNG is too low for precursors. Instead of whining and complaining, propose a new system. If RNG is so broken, how would you design a replacement for a system that has been in place since games were created?

The designers had to limit the number of precursors so they set the % very low…

Has anyone thought about comparing the time it takes to gather the ~130 gold for a precursor with just farming and selling everything you find to make gold? Instead of burning resources and throwing them in the forge, sell everything (that you don’t need for your legendary)

I’m not a fanboy, I simply understand how randomness works. Perhaps you should take a trip to Vegas and see how you handle IRL RNG. There’s a reason the house always wins.

So I’ve been reading a lot of legendary discussions here. Among threats of rage quits, “OMFG RNG is so broken,” and QQing about the TP hoarders for precursors. I’m curious if people think the legendary is “better” than you standard end game exotics…

So here’s what I see. Thousands of people are “going for a legendary” until they realize the amount of grind and RNG you go through. Then people are crying about price gouging on the TP for precursors.

Precursors are, IMHO, a smaller piece of the legendary to be farmed. I don’t think people understand this entirely. The grind to gather the hundreds of thousands of karma for shards, no less than 250 of EVERY tier 6 trophy, WvW badges, full world explore, giant piles of ecto, all of these overshadow the precursor as far as time investment.

If you’ve decided on your legendary, you have the two crafting gifts that need filled out as well, which is likely to have at least one stack of a tier 6 trophy, among other bits to be farmed aka dungeon trophies/lodestones….

I think too much focus is on the precursors, they will come as the grind continues. Don’t focus on just one step.

The other side of the coin here is the fact that the legendary weapons while uniquely skinned, are no “better” than your run-of-the-mill exotics as far as stats. They are unique skins for sure, but offer no technical benefit over their exotic counterparts.

Let the flaming and trolling continue. Like I said, this is my observations. and yes, I’m “going for a legendary” as well. I don’t even know what I’m gonna make yet, but I’ve thrown in 20-30 rare swords, 20 or so axes, couple longbows, 20 or so rifles, and a handful of harpoon guns. haven’t gotten lucky yet, but I have gotten a few named exotics that sold for 4-5 gold. can’t complain about that too much. and guess where that profit went? right back into the forge…. so should I be QQing too? I’m taking my time building up the rest of the stuff that will be needed….and OMG, enjoying just playing the game?!

To quote an old buddy from my UO days….

MOAR pew pew, less QQ.

the could have price skyrocketed due to demand. Berserker armor requires this. maybe people like glass cannon build with lots of + crit dmg builds. ruby orbs were priced higher for this same reason last time I checked.

supply vs demand

Are ranged thieves viable?

I’ve recently dabbled in thieves (lvl 43) and love playing P/P & shortbow for PvE and WvW. Shortbow, while a bit stunted on range, can apply lots of condi dmg and control, absolutely great for big WvW fights and mobs with adds. I enjoy P/P for soling pve stuffs.
