Visual nerfs [Merged]

I just think auras are pretty important, I mean, a magnetic aura REFLECTS projectiles but I can barely see it. Ok, the previous auras were a bit too noticeable but why this egg-shape visual nerf instead of a spherical aura like before except with less noise?

Hi, I just wanted to ask if there was anyway one of my characters can get the rewards associated with the Level 70 and Level 80 Personal Story Quest Chains. I logged in a while back and noticed that instead of being unable to start the Quest Chain at all, it had automatically completed in my story journal though I did not ever actually attempt or even do them. This also regretably means I got none of the rewards for doing the last 2 chains. Is there any way this issue can be fixed? Thanks

Can we get original aura visuals back now?

Yes I would like this as well. I believe Colin made a post that they were slowly phasing in the removed effects and the restoration of the Elementalist Fire Attunement attack Fireball’s FX effects may lend credence to that. I just want some sort of confirmation that Chronomancer Wells, ENgineer’s Orbital Strike, and Aura visuals will eventually be returning.

I was stuck on the exact story step as Kecal.3964 before HoT and now instead of simply continuing my level 70 story quests it just skipped to the end. Story journal says I killed Zhaitan when I never actually did.

It also happens in Caledon Forest, near the town of Cathal, inside the Tears of Itlacoatl Explorer Puzzle, and in the Skritt Home in Caledon in another explorer achievement. Not sure where else but it happens mostly in caves/whatever is nearby. It also makes the Tears of Itlacoatl puzzle impossible to complete without luck as due to the overpowering light, you can’t see the patterns on the rock face to solve it.

Same here, it’s actually pretty annoying. Think I’ll just reroll my level 10 ranger into a different race

For your longbow, do the Fire and Air sigils stack? I didn’t think they would since both are the same “type” and are activated by getting a critical strike.

GS evade off the chain, on to swoop.

Greatsword evasion on autoattack is huge and removing it and adding evasion on Swoop would be a really bad call. The evasion comes in handy in zergs in WvW and so many other places as well. The greatsword is a primarily defensive weapon that can be specced to do average damage.

If anything the swoop should gain an evade while the autoattack #1 skill should stay as is.

Mount Maelstrom, it has such a varied amalgamation of jungle/volcanic areas. I especially love the foggy rain soaked plains leading up to the summit of the volcano as well as the dried magma flows on another side.

Nonmoa Lake in Timberline Falls and the accompanying Krait Tower also looks fantastic; makes me wish we had more reasons to go back to that area.

Slightly reminiscent of Guild Wars: Factions. Looks like it could be one of the slums in Kaineng.

As far as architectural creations goes, it has to be Rata Sum. The height stratified city looks amazing and there are so many places you can go in there. The place feels immense and looks great.

True, however I think the fog could be significantly darkened to alleviate this small visual issue while retaining sight.

True- changing it now would be quite difficult but not impossible. Regardless, this sort of thing probably isn’t too high on their priority list right now. OCD people like me are the prime victims xD.

Nighttime is way too bright- take a look at the images I posted- night time line of sight fog is much too bright. The sky looks fine- but most of the time- distant objects look extremely bright and that never changes.

Newbeach bluffs is an area dominated by coniferous trees with no hint of snow in sight. Once your character goes through an extremely small cave you arrive in a winter wonderland with snow falling and the land covered with it. Snowblind Peaks seems to have come from literally nowhere.

I know this might read like a rather trivial issue- but I think there should be some patches of snow and a gradual move toward a snow covered area. I know Arenanet has done this before in Guild Wars 2- just look at Timberline Falls and its transition from snow covered areas to grassy ones.

IMO, I think that this area of Gendarren fields was rushed – the cave and general barrier between the snow covered areas and the grass covered ones was put as a “quick fix” but this really doesn’t work because as it stands, the cave leading between them is extremely small. One possible solution is if the cave could be enlarged to make it look like your character moves a greater distance- and rises in elevation, it would be much more believable.

All the other areas in Guild Wars 2 show remarkable attention to detail and are quite enjoyable to play through- this one however makes me cringe every time I go near it.
