Yeah that true. I did go around to other games recently to find that. Sadly, not very many games offer some of the great stuff GW2 does. I still am very fond of this game. It is one of the best I’ve played. I’ve always seen as a game that has great potential, but it was never fully used.
I know this is an old post, but I really still hope that these things can come into Guild Wars 2. Hopefully, Anet can take these things to consideration one day.
Anyone else have anything to share about this post?
Hello everyone.
I just wanted to propose and idea that I think would be nice in a Guild Hall. It doesn’t work towards the function of the Guild Hall itself, So i apologize if I going off track.
Proposal Overview
Being able to see your other Characters as NPC in the Guild Hall.
Goal of Proposal
One of the things that I enjoyed from Gw1 was the ability to have Characters from your account become a henchman. It made the game appear more lively and I felt more connected to it. It was amazing to be able to see more than one of my characters fight alongside one another.
Proposal Functionality
I thought that it would be nice to be able to see characters from your account walking around the Guild Hall and socializing with each other. They don’t need to have dialogue, but it would at least make the Guild Hall appear busy. They could be sitting along a hillside, walking down a road, maybe even work in the fields or build houses (or at least appear to do so). I guess it is just a way for small Guilds like my own to feel more alive. Of course, for large Guilds, this probably won’t even be necessary.
Associated Risks
The only problem I can think of is if the Guild is too big to have NPC walking around. Or if people confuse the NPC’s as actual players. Of course, I am not asking for all my characters to appear in the Guild Hall. But instead, I am hoping for an option to do so.
I apologize if this idea seems ridiculous. I personally feel that tiny functions like these helps the game feel more alive. Please do comment.
Housing, guild halls, and camp fires. =) Definitely would great.
Hello to all.
I finally racked up some courage to post a discussion of what I think would be a nice addition to Gw2. I know that not everyone will agree on this, but I would like some feedback of what you think.
First of all, I think that would be great to have some peaceful things to do in Gw2 rather than the usual heroic activity in Pve. For example, fishing or farming. Fishing doesn’t have to be a big deal or even have its own recipe in Cooking and all. It could be something as simple as catching a fish for some small exp, eat it or sell it for 2 coppers each. Possibly, you can make a camp fire from wood gathered from a sapling and fry up your catches to share with your friends. In addition to this, it could be a good way to obtain materials like Scales or Blood, rather than fighting or buying from the BLT. Don’t get me wrong, the BLT is great. But it would be nice to completely be able to obtain materials through other activities rather than just combat or purchase.
The Farm idea was encouraged because I saw that there are ways to obtain metal, gems, food, and even wood outside of combat. But there wasn’t any way to obtain leather, cloth scrapes, or some materials like scales. I think it would be nice to have a farm where you can raise animals (for milk, eggs, and leather) or grow cotton plants where then you can obtain these materials while having a side activity to do. Maybe even use the milk to make butter, to save from buying or having to find it. I love being heroic and protecting a village or saving other ppl, whether its an NPC or a real player. But sometimes, I would to be able to kick off the metal boots and do something peaceful and relaxing. These farm areas does not have to be in a separate zone from the community. It could be an open farm out in the middle of Queensdale that could get attack and cause you to lose your livestock or crops. It could be set out for anyone to use at a price and at the usage of their own tools.
I know that there may be the concern of hurting the economy in the BLT. But wouldn’t you agree that it would be nice to have more things to do, rather than making a few extra silvers on the BLT? I am a Guardian with an empty wallet that have been so since beta (I cook a lot). To me, it was the adventure that counted, no so much the money that I made.
I know that these things may sound useless and even boring, but I believe that it would be a great addition because it is the little things that makes something great. For example, in the recent Zelda: A link between worlds, when Link moves towards an apple on the floor, you would see him reach for the apple and put it into his mouth. That little detail was not necessary because the apple was the same as a heart and simply filled up one of your missing hearts. But by adding that, Link became more alive and players could feel more encouraged to find more apples.
Please do give me some feedback of what you think.
I’m sure this is a fine setup for your basic moves and actions, but how do you maintain the camera?
Yes, please tell me! Lol I have been wanting to play Gw2 with a controller for some time now, but I hesitate because I didn’t see a way to move the camera around and because there wouldn’t be enough buttons to use all the functions I needed. =/ I’m glad that you were able to come up with a good solution though, I am actually encouraged to give try again with the controller.
Hi, I’m pretty new to this forum thing but I have an idea that I would like to share. I was wondering if it would be good for Gw2 to have a function where we can collect background music and play them anytime we want. Kinda like Runescape’s Music box function. Because there are places like Labyrithine Cliffs that has nice background music that I really would hear while traveling around in other areas or while I’m in WvW.
What do all of you think about it?
