Thanks, those look like what I’d expect it to be. Though you said for funsie. I assume D/D just isn’t optimal for this sort of thing really? I’ll probably still go with it though. Or I might try D/F for the first time even..

I’m a returning player, and I’m working on finishing the solo portion of the game. While I suppose anything could work, I’m wondering what the optimal trait set is for a soloing D/D ele. I’ve mostly played it in spvp, and I think I used to level with it, but a lot has changed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Or maybe I should be using staff instead? I’ve been trying a staff build, and while everything dies fast, survivability and healing seems really weak. Sustain when I was D/D was always easy.

I quit after hitting 80 just a few months after launch (never even did any Living Story iirc), so I’ve been gone like forever. Tried to come back a time or two, but didn’t. Hoping this time goes differently. When I quit, I was running some sort of Dagger/Dagger build with Knight’s gear. It was supposed to be pretty amazing at everything but WvW AoE at the time I think. Seems like D/D isn’t everything anymore though.

So anyway, I need to do a bit of everything. I never quested in max level zones, never did more than like 3 dungeons, never even finished my personal story. My gear is all terrible greens (except my daggers which are both yellows), but I am level 80. Any help? I need to just jump in and get to work on this likely very long game of catch up.

I’m very slightly confused on your gearing. Are you using that Knight’s setup now in PvP and WvW? I see where it says you updated on 2/9, but right below it you list another set for PvE/WvW, and I’m just curious as to whether or not you use the knight’s for both of those now, or if I should be going soldier’s somewhere.

Ah, wow. I stopped playing because I was waiting for ele to be put in a reasonable place, yet all I’m seeing, forum to forum, is ele nerfs. I loved ride the lightning, and they took functionality away from that too >_>. Suppose I’ll be back in a month or two to see where the profession is then.
