About Investment in PTR's, and some good criticism for the anet team.

Please lets not change the subject about how other mmos have them and this one should NOT just for that reason.

A ptr serves the porpouse to test major changes in a game, if Anet has been successfull, then the company must attend matter like this seriously if they want to MAINTAIN the audiance.

We all know that for mmos is not about how well you have sold the game, its how well you can maintain it. its ovious that the Black Lion Trade is the way to go to maintain GW2 but if you lack the Player DB, Its not going to work. And if your client (the game) was not made to be handled by PTR then someone failed in the long view of making this game better.

I think you know that allready (anet), you guys are smart and you dont need me to tell you how to run your bussiness, but with all the drama (and this drama is broaden due to the popularity of the game) it is time to adquire with the money earned some PTR severs so nextime you take out a patch to live, you have less danger regarding to losing that player database, wich in the long run is and will be the blood to sustain such great game.

Points of my view of how i see things for Anet

1.- Dont make the mistake to be Prepotent and Narrow minded:
You (anet) din’t make this game out of that piece of mind. Taking some parts of another mmo doenst make your game weak or anything the like, you have a complished another breed of mmo, keep it that way, but ideas from other mmos are needed even if its gonna hurt your ego.

2.- I guess now u all know (anet) that making changes without proper information about it prior launch, can make you clients (We the people we spend those $60) angry, well its natural, you gotta maintain us entertained but in a fun way, that is your job, our was to consume your product with the labor of our on personal work.

3.- We (and i mean the majority of us) play games because is fun, nor a chore, please keep that in mind, everytime you make a change, be truthfull to yourselfs (the developers) ask yourselfs this wen you make a change

1.- is this fun?
2.- will doing x be rewarding?
3.- put yourself in the segmentated areas of targeted people:
its seems its divided like this

A. HARDCORE / B.CASUAL-HARDCORE / C.-CASUAL

so everytime you ask yourself the questions above, youve got to think about those 3 targeted people, and WHO? of those is your main sustain to make them happy.

For the sake of the game you cant deny the large part of the comunity that sustains your business, cuz thats just plain foolishness from your part.

Well that is my point of view, i hope my cristissim goes throgh with the best wishes to gw2 team.

Ps: Please above all, keep the fun in games, its all you really need.

ok lets sepparate 2 things ONE THING IS HARD.

And what anet just gave us is NOT HARD:
its ANNOYING,
its FRUSTRATION,
its UNENJOYABLE,

i careless about how much time i spend obtaning tokens xp or the likes,
but how i obtain that is what matters, and the mechanics of getting
feared chainned by 4-5 dogs in a row and die because its UNAVOIDABLE
is outrageous.

i so sad to see a company that had such a sucssefull launch fark up a game with their
ego and un preparation,

ANET DUDE srsly u made lots of $$$ ? ok want to keep doing that?

get PTR SERVERS DOOD they are meant to do things the right way. Invest and never stop investing, or eventually your proclaimed regcognition will fade in time.

its not fun, mechanics are just bad. no tanks no healers stun locks, unavoidable deaths, agro goes crazy, unlimited skills for mobs, its like someone with no experience on pve made this patch

This patch got me to post on a forum for the first time in years. I’m not going to decry this as the worst thing in the history of games, claim I’ll never do a dungeon again, threaten to never play again, or other hyperbolic reactions. The changes so far haven’t outweighed the enjoyment I get from the game. Instead I’m going to explain what I dislike about the system calmly and rationally. CM was too easy. Let’s be honest. I’m actually happy that you made it a challenge. However, reducing the rewards as well has created a situation where I see no benefit to playing it. In fact I often see myself paying to play the dungeon. If this was the intended result, fine, you did what you set out to do. However it does make me wary of your design philosophy. I was under the impression that “No grind” meant that content would be fairly accessible and you could reasonably achieve rewards at a steady rate just by playing. Instead I’m finding that it means that the dev team will actively shut down any attempts to gain more than a piddling amount of any item/token/material/gold by actively limiting rewards. Forcing me to stop doing an activity I enjoy and move to another in order to progress does not make for an enjoyable experience. Frankly it makes me worried for the longevity of this game as a whole. I enjoyed GW1 and I have faith in your ability to correct mistakes given time. I just hope that the process of balancing difficulty to reward properly does not take longer than my patience can withstand.

This patch was rushed and untested.

The Fear Chain from the dogs at CM SM, just so happens to be one of the many aspects of how rushed and unprofessional this patch is.

I died in that fear chain, not from a challange, just beacuse of some developer not testing the inevitable fear chain that crushed my team and me.

Rushing things for a problem with the game doesnt solve the fun that was itented in the first place, if you want to punish your player database, because they had fun and felt rewarded beacuse of a dungeon, then something will be wrong with your ability to maintain that audiance.

this patch reminds me of diablo 3 and why it failed and i why i quit that game.

i hope you can attend your customers properly, and not make anet a blizzard like company.

i like a challange in a game, but not some unchallanged death to my tolls of repair lists
