Ok, now the screen goes white before the character select screen appears. Isnt there supposed to be a graphic in the transition screen after you click play and before the character select screen appears? If so how do I get this fixed?

Ever since the HoT patch, when I load the game I get a black screen before it goes to character select. Is this working as intended? Was the old loading screen removed and just never replaced?

I am going to keep playing, without HoT for the time being.
I am leaning toward the wait and see side of the issue. By “wait and see” I mean wait for a price drop or some sort of mechanism for people that bought the core game (like I did, pre-ordered Gw2 for myself and my son) and do not need to buy the core game again since it is included with HoT.
I honestly can not justify spending the same amount the core game cost and receiving a ton less. I am not in a habit of spending equal amounts of money to get less stuff, it is not fiscally responsible. I could see buying HoT if I was new to the game and had not already bought the core game.

IMO, $50 is insane to ask for an exp with only one zone. The main game doesn’t cost that much.

Personally, I think between $10-20 is fair for the amount of content being described. If it is true that there is only 1 new area added to the PvE side of things then $9.99 is fair.

I have to agree, unless the expansion comes with as much content as the original game it should not cost anywhere near the original games pricing point.

They did state this, back when they where promoting GW2 before it’s release they stated that you only pay once for content, and that is when you buy the game. You can youtube and scour though all the hype video and I am sure someone will find it. I just remember them stating this in one those video. I also remember thinking to myself, wow that is a bold statement to make considering there are no MMO beside STO that practice no $$$$ expansions.

I am able to replicate this issue 100% of the time. For me it happens no matter what zone I am in, after talking to a spyglass npc.

Same issue ( code=7:11:3:191:101) as well as the sound disappearing issue. This game was so impressive during beta, but has been a avalanche of instability ever since. Very disappointing!

I have this same issue after the most recent patch. This is not a Client side issue and is something Anet needs to resolve. When and if they get around to it.

I have this exact same issue since the most recent patch. Seems that when you pass an npc that talks or do any cut scene it will knock all sound out, except the UI.

I like that idea as well, instead of banning a gold buyer. Punish the account by taking all its illegally gotten gold from all characters on the account.

My ele dies allot as well. However I kind of expect it since I out damage most other classes 3-4 level higher than I am. Being squishy is the price for such power IMO. My biggest issue with my ele is the fact that all the slows/ blinds etc are really not very effective at all. To slow a mob for 3 seconds in pve just to have it race right back into your face 1/2 second later…makes the skills feel useless.
