My girlfriend really wants to get into an MMO, and I recommended GW2. I tried to tell her that $40 is worth it, but she is really hesitant to spend money on something she can’t play first. Would it be possible for me to let her use my account to play the game for a few hours so she can see that it’s worth the money? Would my account get instabanned or something due to a potential broken rule?
(If there is a trial that I’d missed that would be the best solution. :P)
Thanks!
I’ve been playing GW2 for a few days, but this issue is causing me a lot of problems to the point the game is unplayable. I can’t go 5-10 minuets with it turning into a black screen, and 95% of my deaths are due to this issue. It used to be manageable until I reached Kessex Hills which resulted in the problem occurring far more often.
What happens is occasionally the game will turn into a black screen, with only the music and mouse cursor still being visible. Sometimes it returns to the game after 5 or so seconds and lets me play as normal, sometimes it returns to the game with massively low FPS, and sometimes it just stays that way, holding a black screen until I exit from the game with Task Manager. Very rarely does the screen go into the Blue screen of death, but it has happened once out of the 100 times its happened. When I exit, Nvidia warns that the driver stopped responding, but has recovered.
I’ve tried clean installations of my drivers, and have it updated to the latest 310.9, while my Nvidia control panel is set to application controlled AA as suggested in the sticky.
Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 1gb
CPU: Intel Core i7, 920 2.67GHz
RAM: 6 GB
Vista 64-bit
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I can’t play without screaming at my screen and getting depressed.

I’m somehow relived to hear so many others have this problem too. It’s been driving me crazy since I bought the game a few days ago, and at first I thought it was just my Nvidia driver.
Thanks everyone, very helpful! ^-^
Hi, I’m brand new, so I apologize if these seem like strange or uninformed questions. :P
The Home world selection screen has me a bit worried with its talk of permanent homes.
Should I pick one world over the other?
How much does it cost to buy a ‘world transfer’?
Should I go low population, high population, or medium?
I’ve heard a lot of talk on the forms about PvP and PvE severs, and this has me a bit confused. How do I tell which severs are witch, and would that mean I can’t do one or the other if I pick the wrong one?
