Trust me Chi, I don’t think the personal story was worth it. I enjoyed reading your wall of text and when you were talking about the npcs it made me feel all nostalgic for GW1 npcs who actually earned their keep and had fascinating backstories as well. Ahhh Mhenlo and Cynn, how I miss your bickering (and healing and damage).

Take heart! I think Tyria is a far more interesting place with Zhaitan around so screw the personal story (you don’t even get an exotic for completing it anyway – I mean….. what’s that all about????)

Since the latest patch my crashes occur approximately every 15 minutes. The game has become unplayable. I’ve tried everything suggested in the forums, including looking at overheating, disabling firewalls, etc. with no success. I notice that people with more recent systems than mine have been having problems. One common thing in all my crash logs is a memory leakage issue. The general consensus seems to be that this is an Arenanet problem. Until they fix it, or at least are prepared to look at their servers, I shall be unable to play. For the record I have no issues with any other games – Final Fantasy (extremely graphics intensive), Vinductus, Aion, WoW, Rift, Tera, ….. at least there’s plenty to do.

The final reward for finishing the personal story should be an Exotic. Defeating Zhaitan is supposed to be the main point of the game after all.

I’ve completed my personal story on two characters now and frankly the immersion aspect is completely ruined by having to team up with a bunch of randoms (no offence) or even guildies who just want to burn through and ‘git ’er done’.

I enjoyed the personal story but seeing some other player being called ‘Commander’ in the cutscenes made a mockery of the whole thing.

Please change this Arenanet and give us a bunch of hardy npcs as per the other story quests, so we can solo this final dungeon and truly savour the spoils of victory.

I’ve been stuck on this quest for weeks and it’s totally disrupted the momentum of my personal story. I tried bypassing the tanks and taking down the giants. Managed to get two of them but just couldn’t face four more. It was so loooong wading through endlessly spawning minions to get to the giants and then pew pewing them asap before I got swamped by yet more minions. And don’t even talk to me about the repair bill. My last option – beg on my guild for assistance which I will do if they haven’t fixed it by Christmas (surely they would have fixed it by then????)

I agree the song was great. As for pulling at my emotions, I suspect anyone who has ever played the original GW would be disappointed in the story in GW2. Trahearne is no Prince Rurik, Master Togo or Kormir, and Zhaitan is certainly no Abaddon.
