I can confirm that this bug is in effect as of 05/08/14. The meta-event is bugged at: “Sentinel Whiptail is searching for a powerful ally in Lamprey Grottoes”.
I can find Sentinel Whiptail but he just sits there and does nothing and the event will not progress.
I hope this bug is fixed so that people can unlock one of their traits without having to spend money on it.
