Eyrie Nix, Human Mesmer
None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe that they are free…..
Ah! Now I get it! Thanks for all your help!
I’ll try the build out, and hope to be a decent mesmer
Again, thank you!
Thanks for answering!
Here’s what I came up with: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgEQRAsa8dlwzipHWzhGa9IxpHRf5THlCs79SK4duB-jACBofFRjmCEg2I0EJQZmFRjtSqIas6aYKXER1A-e
I’ve tried to maximize phantasm damage while also trying to be a bit supportive. I’d swap traits/weapons if I have to. I might change Duelist’s Discipline to DecEv or DespDec. I’m not too much worried about my own damage because hanging out with a Thief on PvE is quite enough.
What do you think? Is this a solid build?
Thanks!
Hey guys!
I come here for a little bit of help as I am coming close to 80 on my first character.
I was hoping someone with more experience could tell me what would work for me. I have searched builds on Google but GW2 changes so much over time I don’t think they’d work as intended. Currently I’m reading the Mesmer guide over here.
I’ll tell you a bit of myself, for a start.
I’m interested in dungeons (haven’t done any yet) and WvWvW (Once I hit 80, I’ll mostly stay with a group). I don’t know how Fractals work yet but I guess I would try.
As for weapons, I have always used GW and Staff. I don’t have a preference for weapons, I like most except Scepter.
Of what I have tried, what I found the most fun (in PvE) was having Deceptive Evasion, Crippling Dissipation and overwriting clones. I don’t really use Shatters.
Blink is a must have for me, especially for keeping up with my thief friend.
I look for a bit of survivability (could be stats, utility or traits. If it helps my friend too, even better) and mobility. I don’t know what’s required for dungeons and/or fractals but it would be nice to be useful.
Of course, I wouldn’t mind switching major traits or having another set of weapons for, say, pvp.
Thanks in advance to anyone who cared enough to read. Any tips also help.
PD: quick question: What does PU stand for? Does it have to do with Stealth?

Try and post here too. If we have just one (long) topic, I think it would be more effective.

Please ArenaNet, please change this really small thing, it would make us all so happy!
I’m happy people agree.
However it doesn’t look like many are interested in this, and that’s a bit sad, because I feel it would be so easy to change, and that change would be enormous…
Well, I have created a topic (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/EYEBROW-COLORS-let-us-choose-them/first#post2437273)
Would be nice if those of you that want this supported the idea.
Well I’ve said this in the human forum and I will say it again: we need the option to change eyebrow colors. At the very least give us the option to make the color match the hair, but PLEASE do something about it. It can’t be hard to change it.
As someone who spends a considerable amount of time in character creation, I found it extremely annoying to spend 60% of that time choosing the face that wouldn’t make my character look like she dyed her hair, instead of choosing it because I actually liked her facial features.
I honestly can’t understand why this simple but very common feature in other games was left out here. Especially because it’s obvious Anet cared about customization.
I would like to hear your opinions on this suggestion.
7/10 I like the sound of it though I don’t feel it flows very smoothly.
My white haired Mesmer is called Eyrie Nix, nix being snow in Latin according to Google c:
Really? I couldn’t find your topic.
I might create one myself, see how it goes.
That brings up a question I’ve been meaning to ask: What is it with people and this affinity for white hair? lol
I think it’s about choosing colors you don’t normally see in the street. I don’t see people with pure white hair or purple eyes everyday.
For me, it’s because I didn’t like the way black hair looked, and having brown hair myself I didn’t want my character to have brown hair too. I wanted blonde, but instead all I could get were horrible kinds of yellow (at least with the hairstyle I chose), which I didn’t like. White was an option, my Mesmer had purple eyes, so why not?
I liked the whole “ice queen” look to it so I kept it. Also what Marge said.
All that got in my way were the stupid eyebrow colors * ahem another thread *
Hope I could answer your question
I have never played GW, and I chose a human simply because I didn’t like any other race.
I would have been a Norn, but they were awfully tall (for the record, I finally chose the shortest human possible), and a Norn Mesmer just felt weird, their running animation didn’t match the personality I had in mind for my Mesmer. Same with Charr and Asura, which I didn’t like anyways. Sylvari.. I would have chosen a Sylvari, but I wasn’t too fond of trees and plants and the color green at the moment.
So now I have a beautiful Human Mesmer (with the whitest skin and hair possible, and purple eyes c: )
That would be so good, but I don’t think anyone’s going to do anything about it…
I do think it’s possible, but no one will bother.
However I keep wondering how could they skip over this simple feature.
This game’s customization is so good, and yet they had to preset eyebrow colors.
Was it so hard to make them match the hair?
I can’t be the only one bothered by this, and yet I have not found a single thread or post mention this.
I know it’s a really stupid thing, but I don’t want my characters to look like they dyed their hair…
