My only true argument with the wallet is that we can no longer deposit funds in the bank to save, and all the gold is shared across characters. I really liked having each character earn their own way. I also liked being able to save and having to make conscious decisions to go and get more gold for more costly purchases. This is truly my only issue, but it is a HUGE one for me and others I have spoken with.
Agreed! Dyes SHOULD be account wide. I think it would lead more folks to actually get them all than do now already. Many people I know just get the ones they want, because they don’t want to spend the gold across multiple characters to get them on all of their toons. With it being account wide, I believe more would strive for it, especially it if ended up as an achievement (Colorful as a title perhaps?).
I do like the wallet, and have already posted my suggestions for what I think would make it better. The one thing I have a huge problem with, however, is how gold was changed.
Please please PLEASE put it back so we can have a “savings account” in our vault, with just what is carried on characters showing up in our pockets?
And for those who like the new system of gold management, they won’t have to do anything, but it will allow those of us who prefer not to carry everything with us all the time to have that option. Most folks I have spoken with are wholeheartedly agreeing with me on this one point.
Thank you for your time.
This is a picky point, but it is WAY too big, in my opinion. We don’t need huge pictures. Since we carry it with us all the time, I honestly think it would be better served as a tab below the bags on the inventory pane. This would also make it easier to check while doing other tasks.
You can see it from the inventory. Just hover over the bottom of the inventory and you will see a window showing everything in our wallet, but with small icons.
That is good. I do not, however, see the necessity of cluttering up the Hero panel with a wallet tab if it is all there in the inventory. Just my opinion… and the rest of my post still stands.
I love the new currency wallet, with a couple of exceptions, as follows:
1. I absolutely HATE having all my gold available to me all the time. I LIKE having some in a bank that I have to consciously go to in order to purchase big ticket items. It allows me to be better able to save. I’d really like the gold to go back to the old system. It was already account wide, and allowed for long term in game monetary planning.
2. Pristine Fractal Relics – are these not also a currency? Why were they not included?
3. Gems – Really? It’s listed at the BL TP, it’s listed at the bottom of our inventory panel. Does it really need to be listed again?? Just a bit redundant in my opinion.
4. Wallet Interface – I believe it would be better served if it was relocated. This is a picky point, but it is WAY too big, in my opinion. We don’t need huge pictures. Since we carry it with us all the time, I honestly think it would be better served as a tab below the bags on the inventory pane. This would also make it easier to check while doing other tasks. Having it in the H screen makes it very cumbersome and harder to look at on the fly, since it basically blocks out the entire screen.
Other than that, I am THRILLED!!! I love the fact that I just freed up almost an entire bank vault tab from all the stuff I was storing. Thanks for implementing!
There are many titles that we are “given” as we complete our personal story lines. These titles, however, are never able to be used. Knowing ANet, I’m pretty sure it’s an oversight, but one never knows for sure until you ask. Therefore, I’m asking.
When you defeat the King in Orr, he says you will be known as Champion of Orr. When you win the challenge for the hylek, they call you Chosen of the Sun God. There are also Order titles that we are given, but unable to use at the moment (Warmaster for Vigil, etc.). Please say this is in the works and you just have other items that are higher priority at the moment?
If it is not already planned, please say you will consider it for the future?
Respectfully,
Ylarra
Okay, this is just a suggestion (obviously) and you may have something like this already in the works, but here goes.
In the bank tab, we have collections. It would be fairly easy to add one below that with a clotheshanger icon and have it store the town clothes and special garments like the two Halloween outfits, the Wintersday outfit, etc. Additionally, you could put hats in there and have the items stack. So, if someone wanted to have 8 pairs of sunglasses in storage, they could, and all would be account bound. It would sure save on room in the bank tabs (getting crowded after Halloween and Wintersday). So, you could have one section for general clothing, and one for special clothing (like the witch, Mad King and Winterday sets), and maybe two other sections – hats/headgear and special hats/headgear (since we seem to get hats at..well..the drop of a hat…at every festival).
That about covers it. Comments? Refinements? Constructive Criticism?
Happy Holidays all.

While I appreciate and completely agree with everything in Mike O’Brien’s post this date (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/mike-obrien-on-account-security/), some people saw this one coming and planned ahead. My husband and I have been gaming and dealing with hackers and bots for years. We report them as soon as we find them in the game and have gotten VERY good at ferreting them out. We have worked hard to ensure that not only does every email account have it’s own unique password, so does our network, each game we play, etc. Given our natural enthusiasm and excitement for the game as we followed its development over the years, we definitely wanted it to be secure for us from the start.
This being said, I already have a completely unique password to GW2. It’s not something anyone is likely to guess. We check for keyloggers and other invasive software routinely and are careful where we download anything from. I have not had any issues with my account and am extremely confident it is secure. I am so confident, that I really do not want to change my password at all and hope it doesn’t become mandatory for everyone, even those that thought ahead ~ the minority though we may be.
Just my two cents worth.
