After a few months of playing, having been recruited by my BFF I, very much enjoying the game, have convinced my hubby to play. We purchased for him yesterday and (no news here) my Home World has been FULL constantly, checking obsessively from 8:00pm-2:00am Pacific then today at 5:00am and then back to constant from 10:00am. It has never budged. Considering a bunch of free invites are about to fly we are giving up and I’ve decided to go to a different server to play w/ him.

We are very casual, appreciate the RP of RPGs, not looking for guilds, I don’t do PvP at all, he sometimes does. I couldn’t care less about WvW status of a server. Recommendations?

Also I’ve heard rumblings of things/progress being lost when transferring. Can someone w/ knowledge speak to what I might be risking by “trading horses in the middle of a stream”?

With free trial weekend event abut to start I imagine the problem is just going to get worse. ALL American servers have been mostly FULL with a handful of HIGH since we began checking last night into wee hours and again starting this morning.

My best bet for trying to get into any server is to attempt to do it either very late at night or during early morning. Chances are great that you’ll make it in.

Not great. Not ANY server. I recruited my hubby yesterday after playing for a few months w/ a friend on Fort Aspenwood. It’s been FULL ever since – checking constantly from 8:00pm until 2:00am and again today starting at 10:00am on. So now my choices are change servers to be w/ hubby and lose connection w/ BFF (she has a Guild so she’s not going anywhere) or not be w/ hubby after buying him the game so we could play together.

I’d like to add why the kitten does Arenanet’s own game login interface not KNOW it’s down for maintenance and say such rather than making people believe there’s an issue with firewalls or someone has hacked their account and that’s why the login is no longer valid? Great game but so far I’ve been less than thrilled with the website and support stuff.
